What’s in your purse?

I’m embarrassed about something. I own an ugly purse. I mean, it’s black leather, smallish and I’ve had it like forever. I honestly don’t think much about it until I see a cute one. Then I wanna go cute.

How pathetic am I? It use to have a long strap, but it broke on one end and not realizing it, I was dragging the thing behind me. Some guy laughed at me and asked what happened to my DOG.  I go strapless now. ;)

Because my purse is rather ehh… I don’t bother with much inside it. It’s built like a wallet type. So if you asked me what I had in my purse, it would be… hmm.. I’ll go see.

$10, a Tim Horton’s roll up the rim tab, a coupon I’ll NEVER use, lipstick, (that’s where it is!!), Canadian Tire Funny Money, a toothbrush (huh?!?), and a bazillion shop type cards that fall out daily when I tip my purse the wrong way. (that is my exercise program btw)

BUT I’m proud of one thing in my purse. It’s something that tells you something about me and the way I think and operate in my world. It’s a little on the girly side, but for inside a purse, it’s ok. :)


Ohhhhh yeah! Let’s go measure out and buy a brand new spankin’ 28 3/4″  2×4, girls! Cuz I got me a cute little measuring tape!  :) I’m always BEGGING for a measuring tape to borrow wherever I go, so when I spotted this little gem in my mom’s junk drawer, I knew it was meant for the likes of DIY ME! Thanks Mommy. :)

    Those purses are gorgeous…I have alot of them and could use another..you can never have too many!

    tape measure (dah!)
    bottle of water
    Burt’s Bees lip balm
    glasses
    highlighter
    yarn and crochet hook (you never know when you might get stuck in traffic)
    humm…and I just recently cleaned it out…wonder why I see a chiropractor?

    I adore purses Donna and that paisley one is cute, cute, cute! I tend to carry a big purse ~ huge actually so I can lug around anything and everything! I was in purse heaven last year on our trip to NYC ~ Chinatown was the best!

    Congrats on the big 2000 ~ quite an accomplishment but you are a special lady with so many great ideas ~ that is why people keep coming back! Of course I am a follower and have been here for awhile…. Cheers!

    My purse is huge cuz I hate it when I need something, and well I have four kids, they always need something….one day I will carry a little cute bag :)

    Wallet, small point and shoot camera, gum (mine and kids kind, water, tape measure, calculator, calendar, sharpies, diapers, wipes, diaper change mat, kleenex, lip gloss, hand sanitizer, travel size surface sanitizer, hand lotion, ridiculous amount of hair bands (three girls :) , hairbrush, sunglasses, bandaids, sunscreen, bug balm, keys, cell phone, usually a granola bar or snack size raisins or some emergency kid snack. Whew!

    I keep a big tote bag in the car full of stuff we might need (clean shirts, water, stuff like that..) but I don’t usually carry a purse. I just stuff everything into my jeans pockets:) Money, driver’s license and my keys and other odd and odder stuff ends up in my pockets!

    Ummm…..I think Donna needs a new purse. Want me to start up a campaign?

    I have to admit, I am extremely organized inside my purse. I literally clean it out each day when I get home. Here’s what I have in it every single day.

    1. My Date Book, which also holds all of my current coupons and hidden cash
    2. My checkbook
    3. My credit card wallet
    4. A change purse (which also holds all of my fortune cookie slips)
    5. A compact
    6. A zippered pouch with all my lip stuff in it and tweezers and nail clippers
    7. Dental floss
    8. Splenda
    9. Gum
    10. A pill box
    11. Car Keys
    12. Cell phone
    13. A buckeye (from my dad for good luck).
    14. Emergency candy.

    I’m a purse collector, but you’ll rarely catch me with a patterned one. I’m a practical gal, so out of my over 30 purses, there are only 3 that have patterns on them, and 2 of those are the same ppurse. I bought an extra incase the first one ever broke. Ok, so I really liked it.

    I hate purses! I only carry them if I have two and I just use a plain white one, I did tie a scarf on it to jazz it up a bit : ) I am laughing though because I also carry a tape measure! My dad buys me pink tools whenever he sees them, he says they fit me perfectly so I have a hot pink tape measure in my purse. My husband teases me about it but it’s amazing how often I use it!

    my purse…well I loved the purse when I got it, and I paid the most money I have ever paid for a purse, it is has not lasted as long as my other ones. Inside is your normal mommy purse, diapers, fruit snacks, sucker for the grocergy store, sunscreen, crumbs and lots of them.

    First: Congratulations on over 2,000 followers! Wonderful, and easy to see why. You have a great blog!

    Second: Here is a purse story-
    I had one back purse i had used forever. Just the right amount of dividers and pockets, perfect handle length. (and it was only $1.00 at a garage sale!)
    Loved it and owe it with everything.

    One day when i got home, I kept smelling something. Looked all over for what it might be.
    Something rotten on the counter? no.
    Maybe a dead mouse under the sink? no.
    The garbage can? no.

    After looking all over, I finally figured it out.

    It was a boiled egg, in a baggy, in my purse. A rotten egg. I had put it in there a couple of weeks before, and forgotten it!
    Have you ever smelled a rotten egg?
    That is what my purse smelled like. HORRID!!!

    I emptied everything out of it.
    OOOH. =( Still smelled. (I know. because I stupidly put my nose in the purse to see.)

    I has so sad. My favorite bag, in the whole world, irreplaceable, ruined!

    Well, I put it out i he garage, and every once in awhile I would go put my nose in and smell it again. (I didn’t learn from the first time??)

    Well, finally, 3 months later, no kidding, the smell was gone.

    But by then, I had found another. The purse is still in the garage. =)

    Aside from good ol’ Chapstick, I can.not. leave the house without my mini legal pad. I write EVERYTHING there…grocery lists, to do lists, what I’m going to do when I feel like organizing lists, etc.

    Marvelle: my purse is not cute or stylish! My most important thing in it is my chapstick (can’t live without it). Otherwise, it’s pretty standard stuff – wallet, keys, cell, sunglasses, gum…

    Well, I don’t have an ugly purse but I do a wallet. It looks kinda like alligator, redish pink, has a handle so I can carry it like a purse. It is too small and jammed full! lol I serisously need a new one but always need more purses/totes/ etc…haha

    I too am guilty of this, I love my purse and I don’t think it’s ugly and I don’t think others thought it was ugly FOUR years ago lol. Really I need to get with it and get a new one, I have been carrying this one foreverrrr!!

    Congrats on 2000 followers!!! That’s a huge milestone!!!

    I love the teal and brown paisley tote. What’s in my purse? List’s…lots of lists, loose change that stays there until I get to give it to my grandson who one by one puts each coin in his piggy bank, my inhaler for unexpected bouts of asthma, and a teeny tiny tape measure, along with all the normal stuff.     I am a follower of your blog.

    My purse has tons of receipts,wallet, checkbok, makeup bag, sunglasses and keys. Sometimes a snack and bottle of water.
