Hey, we’re having a big party this weekend!

And being that I turned 50 today (post HERE), I was just beside myself when my buddy Michael from Inspired by Charm wanted to make me a cake! Wow!

Now, don’t mind me as I watch, ok M?  Just send those beaters my way when you’re done with them… and the bowl.

Woa… now hang on one minute. This looks like 3 flavours here… ahhh.. it’s a neopolitan cake! What a wonderful idea for us indecisive types…

Ok, that does it. You’re crafting for me too?! I can’t take it.

* gasp *

Ready?!?

Oh, it’s gorgeous! Let’s eat!!

Yeah I really did steal Michael’s mom’s spring themed neopolitan cake. But I’m sure there’s enough for everyone, especially since it’s so easy to make and there’s a full blown tutorial on Michael’s blog.  3 cake mixes, so this is not hard!

    Happy Birthday!! I agree the cake looks completely delicious!! and did you notice the edible grass? We found some recently and I can hardly wait to open the package!! Once again Happy Birthday and have a wonderful time celebrating with your son!!

    Wishing you the happiest of days! I’m positive my mom wouldn’t mind sharing her cake with you. Though, if you live closer I’d be happy to make you your own cake … whatever flavor you wanted. 🙂

    I just wanted to add something- I thought you would have a giggle. I showed your photo to my husband from a distance- I said, how old do you think she is- he said- 32, I said- look closer, he says, oh sorry- 37. I said actually – she just turned 50. Oh he says.
    I have an obsession about looking young….which of course is not the same thing as dressing young! I will be 42 in October, I am quite proud of this. I don’t have any wrinkles, I take care of myself and my family with the best of my ability. I live in Europe- European ladies do not age well!! They hit 30 and it is downhill- I am quite proud of the fact that I don’t look 42. You are an excellent representation of Canadian women and how we age…gracefully! I hope that when I hit 50 that I will look as great as you do! Thanks for the inspiration!

    Hey Donna – Happy 50th. Here’s some good news – I am older than you! Your 50th will be great – as will many, many years after that.
