A Christmas front door chevron twig garland – Day 9

SNS 165 is still going strong HERE.

I love my twigs and sticks for home decor, but if I can get a garland out of it, I’m all for it! So I created another very simple idea. So what should we call this design? Zig zag? Charlie Brown Sweater? I guess chevron will do. :)

How I did it

I cut down like minded twigs all the same size. Each end was tied with twine, then twisted to the side, allowing for the next join.

Each join also got hit with a little bit of hot glue. I tried it without the glue but it was a little too fragile.

So simple and rather cute!

Kind of a nice change for a front door idea…

Are you a twig fanatic as well?
What’s the most unusual element you’ve used to create one?

More of my own stuff is above.

You can pin any of our projects from our designated 12 Days of Christmas pin board!

Hey, guess which show this is from…

“Present time! Present time! Open the present and see what’s inside!”

Oh how it brings back memories! Now go find your present at one of these wonderful blogs and you may be singing that for real. :)

  1. Donna it’s beautiful both in shape and materials. It hits me in the sweet spot when I see wonderful handmade decorations, they’re so ‘not store bought’ it makes the holiday so wonderful. I rarely purchase premade decorations anymore when there are so many things we can make ourselves with items right at our fingertips, it’s amazing if you just put your mind to it!

  2. Donna! This is beautiful. What an unexpected touch! Freakin’ love it! I seriously need twig EVERYWHERE now! Great photos too – that second shot (the close up) of the garland on your door gave me goosebumps! Fantastic!
