Sat Nite Special #127 - full room reveals for Picture Perfect March

Welcome to Saturday Nite Special #126, the multi themed DIY link party!

* Home Decor / Gardening
 * Crafts, / Sewing / Recipes / Printables / Blog tips
* Theme of the week

Every Fri 7pm  to Sunday 11 pm Pacific.

Everyone, meet Beth from Patina White.

This gal knows her junk! My own office needs some cool details to finish it up, so when I saw that Beth had finished hers up, I knew she had to be featured here. You will love this tour!

The key to this office is all about fun!

Take your time with this feature. It's loaded with details.

Picutres arranged in an oval shape soften the square frames. Stacked wire mesh baskets save tons of space yet look cool. And check out that red spin organizer!

Need a little extra desktop space on occasion? How about a rolling cart decked out in vintage yardsticks?

Unique storage hides everywhere you look. I'm really digging these baskets for paperwork.
And what a cool frame for a bulletin board.

Apparently when Beth procrastinates on filing, she scribbles on her 'slate' canvas instead. I like this idea. :)
Talk about wainscotting fun!

Yes, this junker sister has my number and is totally encouraging me to detail up my own office.

If you'd like to check out the rest of Beth's office, visit and pin from her blog HERE.

Thanks for making my blog look so cool this weekend, Beth! You've totally earned yourself a Picture Perfect seal of approval! :)

Do you have a full room reveal ready to show off this weekend?

I'm one of 5 pinners to follow on Stylelist Home!

I've been collecting junk styled pins for awhile now but just recently got a little more serious with my boards.

I finally finished categorizing all my boards with headers such as Crafts: / Decor: / Inspiration etc. so they'd be easier to find for viewers and for me to pin.

So there's a little tip for you to try if you've been getting mixed up like me. Yes it took some time to pull off, but a few min here and there did the trick.

Take a look HERE.

(thank-you for your category idea, Rhonda!)

And as if that wasn't cool enough, friend Ann emailed me alerting me just today to go check out a link...

Ahhh!! How cool! Looks like Stylelist Home likes with my junky collection as well. :) Thanks Stylelist!

And they love my suitcase board.

Also in hot Pinterest news,

Friend Michael at Inspired By Charm is deemed by Pinterest themselves as one of the most followed Pinterest users!  WOW. Congrats, M!

His board is HERE.

Come on over and see my own pretty new boards. You may be in them.  :)

Charlotte and Jonathan take a chance

Have you seen this yet? I can't stop watching it.

Charlotte and Jonathan are trying out for Britain's Got Talent. But upon first appearance, the judges and audience make assumptions.

Warning: this WILL move you. And quite possibly change you.

Our little spring break escape to Harrison Hot Springs... again.

Our very favourite destination for short escapes is to Harrison Hot Springs, BC Canada, and with spring break upon us, we just needed a change of scenery for a short spell. So we head out for one night.

First stop? The log cabin pub. I don't even know what it's called. But all I know is they have one of the very best burgers in the world. Diets are void when we're in Harrison cuz fries it is!

Our weather is still cool,  and the growing season hasn't started yet, so we huddled in the truck while we enjoyed the fantastic view with our awesome burgers.

After about the 80th picture, we gave up. We were both freezing. :) Lick away, dog!

The resort is known for it's high end hotel experience with 5 hot pools to choose from but they also have cottages out back if you desire to bring pets. So we decided to bring the dog for the first time.

Cute they were! But boy would us DIYers have a great time decorating these guys up!  They really needed some TLC the way we do things with our thrifted treasures.

We waited for night to fall then head to the hot pools. The grounds are lit up with white lights wound around the trees so it's really a wonderful experience sinking in the midst of the illuminated hot steam.

After our hot pool experience, we slept like babies. And my craving for a cabin on the lake came back 100 fold... oh how I loved the woodsy interiors and vaulted ceilings and cozy little fireplace...

I could totally picture myself cross legged in front of a lake on the front veranda, tapping away on my writing with my laptop, coffee by my side. Make that latte. Some dreams just never go away. :)

Have you ever watched the movie Miss Potter? If you have dreams, please take the time to rent it. It will change you allowing you to believe all things are possible if you work for them.

This is another Miss Potter moment for me. (watch the movie and you'll understand) This gorgeous little area was out back by the cottages... I attempted to sit there with my vanilla latte but didn't sit for long... brrrrrr....

And again I landed at The Back Porch. It's a must. There's something about this place that I can't put my finger on.  The owners know me now by first name. I've blogged about them a few times and if this place wasn't my dream home, I don't know what would be. With a hobby farm, junk store, workshop and this new / old home on the property, it's set up perfectly for the workshops I wish to host... in my favorite destination. Sigh...

I had a long chat with the owner this round. I always laughingly ask them when they're going to sell me the place. It's always the same answer... never. BUT... this time was a maybe... * blink *... what?! I need to get working! :)

There's just something about this place... I don't know...

Ok, back to reality...

Other than our short little getaway, we mowed the lawn for the first time and started digging around in the garden. And naturally I dreamt up 101 new projects to play with outdoors when it's time.

I also had a chance to refocus on my junk goals. I'm going to get back to the land of creating and focus on writing. The blogging break helped to remind me of where I really desire to focus on my efforts. So I'm going to be a good blogger and actually schedule this stuff in around my day job rather than try and squeeze it in. Cool huh?

I've just been spinning my wheels lately. I got too busy and just ended up chasing my own tail. So it's time to focus on opportunities that help me achieve my goals that also continue to deliver great stuff your way and say no to the rest. I'm on it!

The break was fun and needed, but it's good to be back! I have so many cool things I wish to do and can't wait!

I'm curious... do you have a peculiar dream that never goes away?

Sat Nite Special link party #126 - unique lighting

Welcome to Saturday Nite Special #126, the multi themed DIY link party!

* Home Decor / Gardening
 * Crafts, / Sewing / Recipes / Printables / Blog tips
* Theme of the week

Every Fri 7pm  to Sunday 11 pm Pacific.

I've yet to make a light all on my own.  I've worked a few ready made lamps, but one day I want to start from scratch.

So here are a few unique additions to traditional lighting sources.

The twig chandelier was created by bending willow and grapevine branches around the frame of an existing chandelier. It was fun and easy to do! (note how the lights are situated WELL away from any branches? Critical!)

This cheat was really easy. A jam jar stuffed with white Christmas lights sits inside this old rusty lantern. Hide the strings and you'd never know it's secret. :)

Let's crank it up a notch now... you'll love these.

sincerely, Ashleigh and Sarah

Have you ever seen a tomato cage this cool? Me neither. But what a perfect way to lamp it up!

Artist Andrew Schulman takes lighting to a new level... he illuminates whatever he wishes. Namely... junk!  This license plate wall was his latest creation. He creates crazy and wonderful things like this for a living. Cool huh?

Have any unique lighting to share?
