If there ever was a benefit to being the indecisive type, I think I may have found one! Eureka!

I stumble through unsolved mysteries all the live long day. I second guess, question, and in the end, I just need options. Can’t be locked into any one thing. Can you relate?

So when I started getting requests for some Christmas designs with the old sign stencils, I stalled. A stencil for just ONE month out of a whole year?!

And then my brain went into overdrive again, and came up with an even BETTER plan.

Homestead Blend and Christmas Blend : Funky Junk's Old Sign Stencils.49 PM
Meet Homestead Blend Coffee Served Here and Christmas Blend Hot Cocoa 5 LB Bags.

Two separate stencils that:

– can be grain sacks or signs,

– that completely mix and match with each other,

– in both Christmas and every day ways.

Confused yet?!

Allow me to show you the way…

I LOVE coffee bean sack and grain sack designs! Authentic rocks, but boy can they either be hard to find or incredibly expensive. If one can mimic an old sign, why not a grain sack?

With a twist… of course.

How to make a Christmas themed grain sack coffee pillow instantly!

1. Select your material or premade pillow case of choice. (I used a premade burlap bag) Place plastic wrap, a bag or something water resistant inside / underneath your material.

2. Stencil the grain sack lines down the centre, and allow to dry.

Tip: Go lighter in tone on the grain sack lines, so the top graphics to pop against them.

3. Position and tape your stencil into place.

(shown here is not the actual stencil sold… this is a mixed variation of Christmas Blend and Homestead Blend used as part of the test design process.)

4. With a very dry stencil brush, tap on the paint until the design is filled in. Lift stencil once complete.

Tip: Be sure to go heavy enough over the lines to cover them as much as possible. It’s ok if some shines through. The authentic ones do too!

Isn’t that sharp?! Allow to dry, and stuff your pillow!

Or use as place mats.

Or a table cloth.

Or make an apron.

Or decorate a tote bag.

Or make a bulletin board.

Or just frame it and love it.

Obviously your own creativity will dictate what to do with this!

As for me? It’s an excuse to love on my coffee just a little harder than I did before. Christmas style!

So, here’s the fun part.

Say you’d rather have a sign. Or maybe you want it to read Hot Cocoa instead. Or maybe you want to celebrate your hot cocoa or coffee in a non festive way.

Does your head hurt yet? If not, it’s about to…

are crate or pillow sized, two separate, complete stencils, sold separately, or together at a reduction. This is so you can mix and match any way you desire!

Fair warning… get them both and your head is liable to explode.

  1. I love crafts made with old coffee sacks but thought I would never find any to use myself. What a great idea making your own with stencils. Thanks for this you have given me so many ideas. I love your cushions.

  2. The new designs are wonderful Donna! Christmas is a perfect time to decorate and make gifts with your stencils. Can’t wait to see what you’ll make with your other new stencils.
