12 Days of Christmas Miss Mustard Seed Milk Paint Giveaway via https://www.funkyjunkinteriors.net/

Marian has fired up her own paint line called Miss Mustard Seed’s Milk Paint. Have you ever tried milk paint before? If yes, you’re ahead of me because I haven’t! Yet. But that’s all about to change.

Milk paint comes in powder form, in which you just add water for the amount you wish to use. The paint doesn’t need a primer, and is rather unique in the fact that you can choose either a super chippy finish, or a new look if you add a bonding agent.

  1. The drumset that my brother & I both got from Santa as a child!:) loved it! now my one brother is a drummer in a band lol

Thanks for the chance to win! I wanna get on this milkpaint bandwagon too as I’ve heard great things about it!

    Joey J.

  2. I was a little girl, maybe 7 or 8, when all the girls in my neighborhood were being gifted, Barbies, by Santa. I grew up in a neighborhood where every house had at least 2 kids, so there were lots and lots of lttle girls with Barbie. She had blonde hair, that black and white striped one piece and very expensive taste in clothes.

  3. Oh, and the best toy ever for this child of the 70s was The Disco Dance Machine. It was a gigantic record player with a microphone attached to it. Kind of like a primitive karaoke machine.

  4. I always loved my Barbie Doll. Each year, I would get clothes or accessories for her. Once in awhile, I would get a friend to go along with her, Ken, Skipper, and my…. it’s been so long I can’t even remember if there were any others, but we are talking early 1960’s! Vintage dolls now. Barbie had tons of eye makeup and her arms and legs didn’t bend. Quite different from the Barbie dolls of today.
    I loved her!
Thanks for the chance for the Milkpaint. It looks like a fabulous medium to work with.

  5. Rollerskates! All six girls in my family received a pair. They had keys that tightened them around our shoes…not so great with tennis shoes LOL!
    Merry Christmas!

  6. A doll named Hi Giggles….
As my older brother and I sneaked downstairs at 4 am I remember vividly
shaking the box she was in and hearing her giggle inside!!!

  7. Oh my..this one is easy…my Chrissy doll…I am 45 and cause my family much hilarity as I sniff new plastic things searching for my sweet Chrissy doll smell – ahhhh, 1970’s plastic!! hahaha Merry Christmas one and all!

  8. My favorite toy/present? My mom made a bunch of Barbie clothes for my dolls. She knitted tiny coats with angora collars, beautiful evening gowns out of taffeta and other silky fabrics, just the most beautiful array of clothes and I was beyond thrilled with all of them.

  9. My favorite toy any year that I recieved them, was paper dolls of every kind….my imagination went wild with stories I made up about their lives and ways that I dressed them.

  10. Favorite present…a farm set, complete with metal barn, silo, animals, fences, etc. Can you tell I was a tomboy growing up? I’d so love to win the milk paint. I follow Miss Mustard Seed’s blog regularly and really want to try that paint. Love your Christmas ideas, Donna!

  11. My favorite toy was a Baby Doll! I got one every year! I still love Dolls now that I am grown with kids and grand kids of my own!!

  12. My favorite toy is a teddy bear that Santa brought when I was 7 years old. I named him George. I slept with that bear until I got married! I’ve had him now for 35 years. He’s missing his nose and his mouth and has been sewn several times, but he’s still loved just as much!

  13. My parents always did a great job when it came to Christmas gifts, but I would have to say one my favorites was a doll house. I still have it and I hope that one day I have a little girl that I can give it to!

  14. Thank you for hosting a great party and giveaway Donna! My favorite gift had to be the year my Grandfather converted space in his work shed to allow me the room to create and play. I made lots of mud pies in there and decorated my little play house with neighborhood yard sale finds. Pure bliss!

    xo

  15. My favorite gift was a blond walking doll I wanted so badly–my older sister got the brown haired one and we were the happiest little girls on the block…

  16. Although I love all the Miss Mustard Seed milk paint colors, my favorites are two new ones–Trophy and Curio. Thank you!

  17. Great giveaway, Donna! Not sure I have a favourite but one would be my Pendalart, it was a swinging base with a paper on it and a magic marker pointing down on top. You push the base (like a pendulum) and the pen would make designs as the base swung back and forth. Anyone remember this?

  18. I don’t remember a toy that stands out, but I know that me and my siblings used to get new pj’s that were quite memorable. The girls would get a cotton ruffly nightgown with sometimes a matching night hat. The boys would get a new red union suit. They made for some adorable photos.

  19. I LOVE this blog! You have really inspired me. I have the particular blessing of inheriting most of our antique furniture so I don’t need those things. But I am going to do a few of the repurposed items for others in my family. I just might find a place at my house for one or two items!
Anyway, the gift I remember the best is a ring my mother gave me when I was 16. It has a tiny diamond in it. She said she wanted to be the first person to give me a diamond. It now belongs to our oldest daughter. I gave it to her on Christmas Day when she was 16. Hopefully she will have a daughter to pass it on to for Christmas of her 16th year!

  20. My favorite present was a tape recorder I had wanted and knew my parents didn’t think I needed it. I was so surprised and still remember my excitement when I opened it…after 40+ years.

  21. I think my favorite toy was the little Fisherprice toys, I would play for hours, making up stories. My day made me little house for them out of scrap wood, and I would use any little thing, pop bottle caps etc for accessories!

  22. My white go-go boots! It was the 60’s, and SO out of character for my parents to get me something so hip! 🙂

  23. My favorite toy was an old tape recorder with cassettes I could stop and start that thing over and over to write down and memorize songs (this was the 70s).

  24. I would love to win so I can finally try using milk paint. I have heard so much about it and want to try it.

  25. The best gift I received as a child was my first bike, a 2 wheeler with training wheels!! Thank you for this great giveaway. I can’t wait to try her milk paints.

  26. My favorite Christmas was my Madame Alexander doll from Santa that I have now given to my daughter.
She still has her original wig and rubber bands even though we both played with her quite a bit.
I have 3 chairs that someone was going to throw away and the milk paint would be wonderful for them.

  27. LOVE joining in with Party Junk. Have a great week Donna. Can’t believe that you are hosting a MMS Giveaway! Happy Dance. My best ever Christmas Present – my first bike when I was ten – rode it until I was 18.
    Joy

  28. A doll with long glossy brown hair and it wore a locket! I lived that doll and now my daughter’s play with it 🙂

  29. My favorite was an upholstered rocking chair. Mine was brown (the color of my eyes), and my blue-eyed sister got one to match her eyes too.

  30. My favorite present was any Lego set that I received. Usually it was a joint present with my brothers, but we all loved them! They are still in my parent’/ home and now used by grandchildren. 🙂

  31. I loved all my Barbie’s and her stuff. I had the airplane and her townhouse. My Aunt also made the coolest outfits for her.

  32. My favorite toy as a child were my brothers trucks and cars. I especially liked the Grader, I was the road builder. I made the best roads to drive our toys trucks and cars on. I was most certainly a tom boy!

  33. I received a knitting machine that I thought was the best – and an Easy Bake Oven!!! I was in heaven!!!

I really enjoy reading all of your posts and drooling over your creations!! You are an amazing woman – thank you so much for sharing with us all – we are much richer as a result!! I’ve not tried the milk paint before either – hopefully this will happen soon!! Thanks for the chance at the win!!

  34. What was your favourite toy/present as a child? My favorite toy/ present was my first “big kid” bike with no training wheels!

  35. WOW, SO many pretty links today. I’ll add mine when I get home. SO excited for this giveaway. I’ve never won anything and this would be a Christmas present to ME!!! What a fun way to start the New Year with some new toys 🙂

  36. The Timey-Tell Doll ! …and my lil’ play kitchen!! Nothing like the plastic ones they sell now. My mom still has mine…hand painted & made out of plywood!

  37. I’ve read about milk paint and now am extremely interested. Judging from other comments I am supposed to say what my favorite present ever was. I think the guitar my husband bought me. It was a total surprise!

  38. My favorite Christmas Gift was a stuffed alligator my mom gave my sister and I for Christmas. We used to jump from bed to bed and pretend they were going to get us!

  39. The best present for me was when I got my first pair of hose. I thought I was so grown up and I shaved my legs for the first time and had cuts all over them! Thank you MMS for this contest. I follow your blog and know I will love your paint.

  40. I don’t remember something I received as much as one thing I gave. When I was four I bought my dad a pair of slippers that looked like moose. He still wears them every Christmas to this day…25 years later. He is also the one who encourages me the most in my diy endeavors.

  41. A small electric organ/keyboard. I remember playing Home on the Range for some reason. Not sure why that song sticks in my mind.

  42. i think every gift i received as a child was my favorite, we had 5 kids so we were appreciative of every gift we received.
would love to win the paint!

  43. I’m so excited! I have seen milk paint in many decades!
Favorite gift was the arrival of our twin cousins on Dec the year my twin sister and I were 6. There was one baby for each of us!

  44. my favorite Christmas present as a child was a stuffed panda bear from my Grandmother. I still have pandy, he sits on my bed 🙂

  45. My favorite gift ever was a pair of real (like the rentals, only WAY COOLER!) pair of rollerskates! I spent sooo much time with them on my feet, even long after they were too small. 🙂

  46. It would definitely have to be the beauty parlor doll. She came with her own beauty parlor chair that I sat in instead of the doll!

    What wonderful Christmas decorating ideas!

  47. The teddy bear ( and perfume) my boyfriend ( now husband!) gave me for our first Christmas together! He picked one out with blue eyes just like him–not an easy task! Would love to try milk paint..thanks for the entry!

  48. My fave present was a doll with a beautiful white wedding dress and blonde hair I could style. I still have her and she brings back fond memories of my Grandma who bought her for me.

  49. Hmmmm…I don’t remember too many toys. I do remember missing a few days of school due to a blizzard and playing with a Barbie camper I’d received for Christmas. Outside it was blustery and cold but for Barbie (and friends!) it was summer. lol

  50. My favorite present as a kid, well the one I wanted more than anything in the whole world and was was completely shocked when I got it – an American Girl Doll! I had Samantha and I loved her! I still have her and will give her to my daughter in a few years. Thanks for the awesome giveaway!!

  51. I’ve been reading about Miss Mustard Seed’s Milk paint for quite some time and oooohing and aaaaaahing over many projects that have utilized the paint…I would love to get my hands on some of it! My favourite toy as a child was my Bionic Woman action figure and her lab. She had panels on her arm and leg that you could open to view the bionic parts. Man, she was cool! If not for a terrible house fire that burned our entire house to the ground, I probably would still have her.

Thank you for the very cool giveaway; I really enjoy reading your blog and oooohing and aaaaaahing over your projects, too! If only I could be so creative! I look forward to reading much more from you!

  52. I was blonde; my sister was brunette … The best Christmas present we got were wigs! I got a brunette wig, and my sister got a blonde wig! We were 3 and 6, and we played with those wigs for years!!!

  53. My favorite Christmas present when I was a kid was a huge cardboard box. I don’t remember what the “real” present was, but my brother and I played that box to death!

  54. I don’t understand how this Raffle-copter thing works. I followed the directions on it but it would not let me answer the question from there.
By commenting here will I be entered????? Confusing. Favorite toy was a baby doll I named Roseie!

  55. My favorite were the dolls, from Chatty Cathy, Tiny Tears to Barbie, Midge, Ken & Skipper. Loved them all. Thanks for the chance to win MMS paints, haven’t tried them yet, but am looking forward to trying them.

  56. An electric train set! I’m still fascinated by train sets as an adult although I haven’t bought myself one.. Yet 😉

  57. My favorite was anything Barbie. One year my oldest sister (who was 13 yrs older) and her husband made me a custom Barbie home. It was so special to me, I’ll never forget it.

  58. As a child, my favorite present was a little sewing machine. I wanted it for months and was bowled over that Santa actually got it for me. I think my crafting craziness started then.

  59. What awesome inspiration here! Thank you for the party Donna. I have been wanting to try MMS paint for some time. She does such great work. Have a merry Christmas!

  60. I love, love, love, your decorations!! And I love all the furniture makeovers! So rustic and country—my fave!! So many ideas I don’t know which I want to do first!!

  61. My gosh I didnt know such beautiful work could be done with old furniture!! Wow Id love to get into this hobby, thank you for the opportunity!

  62. I didn’t have much toys as a child but I remember getting a mini play kitchen about 12 inches high and I actually made furniture out of cardboard boxes to add to the kitchen.

  63. My Barbie dolls! I loved my dolls….. oh, and my little red baby grand piano! I played with that thing forever! I still have it… saving it for my first grand baby due next summer! 🙂

  64. Oh, best gift ever was the play-house that my dad, who really couldn’t build things….built for me!!! Crooked windows and a door that didn’t close! But, much used and loved!! Thank You so much for the chance to win MMS goodies!!!

  65. The year I got a bike…..it was the year my Dad’s company was on strike for many months and money was tight. We received welfare food and there wasn’t much in the way of extra’s to be had. But Mom and Dad still managed to provide a special Christmas for all 5 kids. The bikes were second hand and had been painted and reassembled so they’d look pretty new. I was old enough, maybe 10-12?, to understand how much it meant to make sure that we still had our Christmas. I think that was one of the best we ever had!

  66. A four poster doll bed with a ruffled white canopy, bedspread and bed ruffle! I think I was 9 years old that Christmas. I wish I had the actual human sized one now!! 🙂

  67. I loved dolls. Suzy Smart and Betty Beauty Parlor were two of my favorites. I always enjoyed the jacks I got in my stocking every year.

  68. The jack in the box – up popped Casper the friendly ghost. In later years I loved watching my kids play with it at Grandma’s house.

I have just the piece for some milk paint love. Got my fingers crossed. Thanks!

  69. My favorite gifts were the various deer toys, figurines etc that my mom (Santa) got me every year. I was crazy about deer, and so my mom gave me a deer of some kind every year… occasionally she still does, and I’m 55 now! 😉 I also loved those gold foil covered coins in a mesh or cotton bag that were in the stocking every year.

  70. I got a beautiful green dress when I was in second grad from Sears. I can still see it; tall white collar, long sleeves.

  71. My favorite present was a ring my father gave me that matches my sister’s and my mother’s (of course, her’s had a bigger setting).

  72. I was big on Barbie when I was a kid and I remember the Christmas I was 7 getting all of the dolls, outfits and accesories that I picked out of the sears wishbook and wondering how Santa knew. Thanks for a great giveaway!

  73. I know this sounds. Rey nerdy, but when I was about 9-10 I got a little microscope and LOVED it. We lived on a huge lake and I loved sampling the water to see what was living in it as well as financing stuff in nature and seeing everything that was so tiny up close.

  74. I must say, I was wondering how hard that must have been to come up with 12 days of junk Christmas Decor, but you hit it every time. I am so impressed with all the other Junk DIY Christmas decor at the party! Think of all the stuff that was saved from a landfill and now is making people’s homes more beautiful!

  75. So many ideas and some will have to wait till next year. You always come across great projects.

I remember our tree when I was little my parents would put Angel Hair all over the tree. There were 6 of us but we thought we were rich. I received my first doll. I wish I still had that doll.

Thanks for the chance to win. I haven’t tried the chalk paint but I have so many project to use it on. God Bless and have a Merry Christmas!

  76. I would love to reboot my crafting with some painted furniture and signs. I have not created anything new in several months. Let’s get painting!!!

  77. My favorite Christmas present was from my mother in law soon after my father in law passed- we went on a Disney cruise as a family over the holidays (something we never dreamed we could di). It made Christmas easier- while missing a loved one.

  78. believe it or not, I come from a large Mennonite farming family and I don’t remember ever getting a Christmas gift! But neither do I remember feeling deprived so I doubt if my friends did either:) I’ve yet to try the milk paint also, so this would be fun to win! Thank you!

  79. Oh how I love Milk Paint, and know exactly what I would do with it if I won… I’ve been dreaming of a old chippy red and white couch… that I make, and stain, and sand, and paint, and sand, and paint. Because of the finish that I want to do on this lovely piece (that currently exists only in my head) I would need both the milk paint (in at least the white/linen and the red…) and the antiquing wax to help with the chipping.

Really love your link ups, but this week truly is extra special. Thanks for the great opportunity.

  80. A Cabbage Patch Doll! It was during the Cabbage Patch Kids craze and my mom won a doll! I know now that she could have sold her for a lot of money, but instead, she gave her to me for Christmas!! <3

  81. My favorite childhood gift… boy will this date me, was a Chatty Kathy doll. You pulled the string on her back and she said different phrases, I LOVED that doll, until my sister gave her a BAD haircut and gave her a makeover with fingernail polish. Didn’t ever see Chatty the same way, but still loved my baby sister! Thanks for the chance to win some Milk Paint, love MMS, but have never tried her product! Fingers crossed and maybe this will be my new favorite gift!!!

  82. I could use the milk paint for the three tables I have started and I could also finish the shelving I made with pallets!!!!! O YEA!! Merry Christmas!!!!

  83. Yay! It’s finally December! Happy Holidays!! Thank you for hosting this great party. We love your blog!!
    ~~ Seasons Greetings,

    Sharon, Denise & Aubrie

  84. My favorite gift as a child were the games my parents would put under the tree…whenever guests would come on Christmas night, we would play those games over and over and over!

  85. My favorite toy growing up was a painting kit. Unfortunately my babysitter fell asleep on the sofa one day and I painted my first set of kitchen cabinets.

    Take Care,
    Mandy Jean

  86. My favorite toy was a toy typewriter when I was about five. I would love to receive the milk paint because I have never used milk paint.

  87. My favorite toy I received as a child was a trampoline. It was the only white Christmas we’ve ever had. We ran outside in our pjs and coats and could have stayed out there for hours jumping.

  88. The one present that stands out-when I knew there must be something else since I didn’t have many presents… but then a small something under the tree turned out to be a needle for my stereo that I wanted! the stereo was hidden away for me. : )

  89. I follow Miss Mustard Seed’s blog and love the work that she does. Winning this prize package would be the best “gift” ever.

  90. The only gift I remember specifically is a Barbie, and I remember peeking under the wrapping paper beforehand, so it wasn’t a surprise Christmas morning!

  91. I would love to try Marian’s milk paint. I didn’t realize it came in powder form. My favorite toy as a child was probably my Barbies. I am not a person with a wild imagination so I spent more time brushing their hair and getting them dressed and setting up their homes than I actually did “playing” with them. But that was my fun!

  92. I definitely adored my kitchen playset I got one year… Tie between that or the plain wooden blocks we had in a big old tub. So many good memories!

  93. I don’t recall a favorite present necessarily, although I do remember one year getting furniture for one of my dolls. That was pretty sweet!

  94. My favorite Christmas present was my kitchen set of tools. We had just bought our first house and my mom gave them to me and then came out to visit and show me all the possibilities they have!

  95. My favorite toy was the baby doll named Tiny Tears. I think it is still stored somewhere at my mother’s house. She’d cry real tears.

  96. Favorite present as a kid had to be a wooden rockinghorse. It’s fun to see my toddler nieces and nephew rock away like I once had.

  97. I have fond memories of a dress with the pettiskirt beneath. I remember looking at it every time we entered the shop all year.

  98. Wow! What a great party! I just found it on Facebook! Got to go pin on the Pinterest boards! I pinned like crazy yesterday. Thanks for hosting Donna and Merry Christmas!
    Sherry

  99. My tiny tears doll and chatty Cathy. Well over 50 years ago. I still have them today, and many little ones have played with them through the years.

Thank you for such an awesome contest. I have never used chalk paint. Looking forward to getting creative. 🙂

  100. My favorite Christmas gift was my teddy bear, “Teddy”. And after 40+ years, he still has a home with my family! :)) Thank you for such a wonderful giveaway … I’d love to try MMS milk paint!

  101. My favorite toy as a child was a “sewing machine”. I didn’t really sew though, it dotted little spots of glue along the seams for stitches.

  102. My most memorable and favorite gift was the portable CD player and the Larnelle Harris CD I revieved. I went through quite a few batteries and I had to replace my Larnelle CD. I plumb wore the first one out. That gift started a lifelong long of LarnelleHarris and contemporary Christian music. Thank you for the oppertunitu to win this awesome prize packahe. I have made my own chalk paint but I would sure love the chance to try Miss Mustard Seed’s. version.

  103. I so loved the baby doll my grandmother gave me in 1967. She had a pink lace dress on and when you tipped her over she would say mama!

  104. My all time favorite gift was a pair of roller skates. I really thought I was fit for roller derby! Thanks for such a great giveaway – I’ve been wanting to try this paint, and love Miss Mustard Seed!

  105. I remember wanting a Mrs. Beasley doll like Buffy had on the TV show “A Family Affair” (I’m dating myself, I know…) but I never did get her. Instead, I got a Drowsy Doll that my sister & I always fought over. Maybe my parents should have gotten me Mrs. Beasley & gave my sister the Drowsy Doll and there would have peace everywhere… 😉 A A close 2nd fav toy would have been my Close N’ Play record player. Why yes, I WAS a child of the 60’s & 70’s.

  106. My favorite toy was my cabbage patch doll named Xavier Alexander. He came with a cabbage patch pony. My parents still have him in the attic.

  107. I would LOVE to try the MMS paint! I’ve got an old desk just waiting for it…. My favorite gift was my Madame Alexander baby doll. I loved her for years!

  108. When I was 2 years old, my aunt and uncle gave me a bean bag tiger, (my uncle also called me tiger till the day he died) It was my most treasured possession. As a matter of fact, I still have it…42 years later.

  109. Thanks for the opportunity to win the Milk Paint! This would be my first attempt to use it and I love the stuff! I already have a piece in mind to try it and I’ve already watched all of Miss Musterdseed’s tutorials! Can’t wait!

  110. My favorite Christmas gift as a child was my big chalkboard. It had a wooden frame and was attached to a metal stand so you could rotate it. One side of the chalkboard was black, and the other side was green. I wanted to be a teacher when I grew up, and for me, that was all about writing on the chalkboard. I was 50 years ahead of my time with the chalkboard thing. 🙂 I wish I still had it.

    Merry Christmas, everybody!

  111. favorite gift … definitely the banana seat pastel bike I got when I was 6 or 7. my parents totally pulled the wool over our eyes and then BAM (!) there they were on Christmas morning! (Thanks for the giveaway!!!)

  112. Hi There! Happy Monday! My favorite childhood toy was my record player. I love music, and would listen to records and the radio for hours.
    Happy Holidays!

  113. strangly it was a sleeping bag. We lived in an old farm house and slept on the floor in front of the wood stove on cold winter nights. The sleeping bag was heaven. 🙂
