DIY Salvaged Junk Projects 349

Every Friday, 7 PM through Sunday 11 PM Pacific

Happy weekend, friends!

We are under some serious weather lately! Which has me heading indoors, wishing to pretty up more for fall.

I’ve done a front entry refresh with a new little shelf to warm things up. I’m tellin’ ya… if you want a clean house, pretend you are creating a photo shoot in a given room. That room got gutted for the pictures! 🙂

This past week, I also took you for a bike ride during golden hour. In the middle of our real time rain storm. Isn’t it great we have pictures to reflect back on in times of need?

And then finally, the first of 3 new stencils was launched on the blog.Pantry was one of our most requested designs, that was brought to life on an easy pipe shelf. Next week I’ll showcase the other 2, so stay tuned!

So back to the junk party, here’s what inspired me from last weekend…

Fall centrepiece with a barnwood technique, by Hunt and Host

Isn’t this centrepiece gorgeous? I love infusing nature with the changing seasons, and nothing says fall like nuts, and apples.

But take a better look at that board… it sure looks like a chunk of authentic barn wood, doesn’t it? This post showcases a really cool way to get this look easily!

Wow… the texture on this DIY pumpkin is gorgeous! And it truly couldn’t be easier to duplicate with this idea!

I am a metal tray-aholic, but even more so with this combination of nature, plants and sparkle. So pretty!

And then there’s that thing the tray sits on… youch! Need more deets! I’m still trying to find the info on it, but when I do, I’ll be sure and add the additional link!

Need an instant side table? Grill surface? Or even a potting bench, such as this one? Cinder blocks and boards to the rescue! Because sometimes simple is really the best!

If you are a collector of new galvanized wear, but prefer old, this technique is really pretty! But what drew me in was the vintage inspired bold red lines. Such a pretty, instant way to add a zap of colour for a front entry or otherwise!

Look closely at this gorgeous tree art. It use to be a standard schmandard thing. Click to find out, and you will be amazed… pretty spectacular result, isn’t it?

Industrial farmhouse pantry shelf, using Funky Junk's Old Sign Stencils | funkyjunkinteriors.net
Industrial farmhouse pantry shelf, by Funky Junk Interiors

My dream pantry would be a plain, white room, lined with rustic pipe shelving. So I did the next best thing… I mimicked the look, with the help of a new stencil design… 2 more designs will be launched next week, so stay tuned for more reclaimed wood fun!

So, what did you make or do this past week? Link up below!

  1. Hi Donna, I’ve sent a girl over to your party. I’m afraid it’s not Funky Junk Donna yet though. She will come to life but I need to find the perfect legs for her.
I loved the shelf you made for your entry way and this pantry shelf is great as well. Your stencils are always beautiful.
Have a wonderful and cozy weekend! 🙂

  2. Wowza, I’m a little bowled over right now. Thank you soooo much for featuring our Tree of Life Donna and for leaving such a beautiful comment. Hope the weather improves, stay safe and thank for a great party 😀

  3. What wonderful features, I loved them all! The pumpkin was especially intriguing for me.
I know what you mean about the setting up for a photo shoot to inspire you to get a spot clean. I have been asked for some interior shots of my little painting cottage and it is a disaster (creative work space). But having to get it photo worthy will get me motivated to tackle it with gusto!

  4. I was working with buckets yesterday so I’m lovin the red lines…great idea! Wheels are turning with your new stencil and looking forward to seeing what other stencils you’ve got in the works!.

Hope the weather is better today! I was talking to my mom and she was a bit nervous about the wind. They have massive trees in the backyard

  5. Hi, Donna
Thanks bunches for the feature on my aged barn wood diy! Appreciate the recognition.
Loved the red striped galvanized buckets! Always enjoy your party! Thanks for hosting and wishing you a great week ahead!

  6. Donna,
Thank you so much for featuring my simple potting table and for the sweet comment. It really is a practical little side table. Weather proof and I can take all the plants off and use it for a buffet table when the weather is nice again. xxoo Carolyn
