Greetings all!

What. A. Week. Everything seems to move so fast, I barely finish what I started before I’m doing something else. This rapid fire way of living can be exciting, but it often doesn’t bring closure to anything for a long, LONG time. LOL

Case in point…  Went to town and bought plants for the garden. They didn’t carry herbs though so I’ll have to find them later. Planted them. Didn’t finish fluffing the area. Landed a new-used grill. Brought it home, and deep cleaned it. Didn’t get it up on the patio yet but it will be nice to use when it isn’t sitting in the rain I’m sure! Need those herbs for a project now so I need to get back into town… maybe I can find ferns for the front and back of the house at that time too…

And then let’s add a couple of days at my gardening job. I really love it! But at over 60, I still haven’t learned how to pace myself to work more like a 60+ year old, so this ol’ girl is tired. Thank goodness  AM dips in the inflatable hot tub can assist!

So where does this leave blog content? I suppose it’s taken a back seat because I’m not focusing on starting and finishing anything because, well, I can’t keep up. But I secretly love all this crazy-busy too… keeps things fresh! Not great for biz though so there’s that.

However one main focus is on my new garden bed I created a raised planter for, so now that it’s planted, it’s nearly ready for a shoot…

As soon as I can bribe my son to help me finish cutting the border… because I’m too tired! Haha.

Anyway, I hope you’re more pulled together more than I appear to be. Spring is just a busy start-up time outdoors and that’s where I tend to linger I guess. Thank goodness for these upcycled project features from last week’s party then the new projects to follow, because I’m feeling deprived. I need a finish! And maybe a blogging manager.

Thanks for the inspo, friends…

Antique wood mortar turned DIY planter

Wood mortar planter by A Pretty Happy Home

There are MANY things I love about following Annisa, however one of my top reasons is how she manages to flip simple things into something extraordinary. Such is the case with this gorgeous wood mortar turned planter. It’s high-end elegant! And simple to do. However I love how this beautiful antique statement piece elevates a simple plant without needing anything other than soil and a plant.

Hint, hint to me. Think simple and get a blog post up now and then, eh?

But then I see this adorable woodland feature of a clay pot flipped into a treasured frog fairy garden vibe that can be displayed anywhere… with real moss no less, and I want this too! Love how the pot elevates this little vignette turning it into a tiered tray to display anything you wish! Dollar Tree here I come…

Now this next epic project will require more time on your hands, but you MUST see how this beautiful arched console started! You won’t even believe it. Inspired by a high end piece worth thousands, this inspiration was made for mere pennies in comparison ending with a very similar effect. Wait until you see how the arches were made…

Inspired by some vintage flat vases in an antique store, Claire did one better and went home to create her own version! Oh my goodness… This tutorial also includes templates you can make your own, customized any way you wish! So adorable, which look so perfect with these handmade artistic flowers…

  1. I love, love, love my garden edging tool you introduced me to a few years ago, Donna! It’s the best!!!! Thanks and have a wonderful week!

  2. Hi Donna! I kid you not, I think about you every time I edge around my flowerbeds. I always think, “Is this up to Donna’s standards?” I think I’ve either read too many of your blog posts (is there such a thing?) or watched you working in your garden on Instagram a time or two! Ha! Thank you for including my mortar planter in today’s line up of fantastic projects. I appreciate you!
