PJ 313 – an upcycled link party
Every Friday, 7 PM through Sunday 11 PM Pacific
Welcome back everyone, to another fab junk filled weekend!
How did a week go by without me making anything?!
Well, not quite true…
I brewed up some fresh ginger tea. Shortly after I wrote that post, I received a FB message that a friend tried my tea, and she felt so much better after being under the weather. No way!
And I bared all with something I’ve been holding back on. You blew me away that you were actually interested in hearing more! Alrighty then!
I also told you all about my woe is me hatred for exercise and how I’m tackling it…
And it took like a YEAR to create my Best of 2015 post. So there’s that… 🙂
I’ve also been experimenting with some new stencil designs. Any thoughts on what you’d like to see this upcoming year?
Speaking of stencils, do you sell stuff? If you’ve been wishing to carry Funky Junk’s Old Sign Stencils in your stores, sign up HERE to get on the wholesaler’s email list so we can notify you when we’re ready! Coming soon!
Thing is, we all wear so many more hats than just one, don’t we? I’m just very grateful you appreciate a mixed bag around here from time to time!
So in order to get my NEW junk fix this week, I’m so glad you’re here!
Here’s a few favs from last weekend’s Party Junk…
How to make a hand painted sign on a window screen, by Prodigal Pieces
Larissa had me at old sign. Add an old screen to the mix, and you have this beauty! Great tutorial on how to hand paint a screen, with no stencil in sight. I bow down to your patience, Larissa.
Early winter vignette in a crate, by Stone Gable
Yvonne’s gorgeous winter vignette above is a true testament that old crates belong EVERYWHERE. Don’t you adore this shallow style? Oh goodness… I need to get a little more brave with my table saw me thinks.
Did you also notice the burlap wrapped book covers too? So pretty!
DIY builtins around bed from old desks, by Remodelando la Casa
I often overlook ‘built ins’ because they don’t always have a super personalized look.
Cristina officially changed my mind. She created built ins around a bed, starting with old desks!
This post is a must see. Aren’t the addition of those wire baskets the coolest industrial touch?
World Market Inspired Perpetual Calendar, by Little House of Four
I’ve always loved the mere thought of a calendar you simply cannot lose under a shuffle of paperwork. Katie sure came up with a cool way to accomplish just that… and never have to even BUY another calendar again!
How to turn a plain burlap canvas into a beautiful Antiques sign with MEANING, by My Salvaged Treasures
Betsy is highly known for her amazingly talented signmaking abilities. But she took this one a few steps further.
This sign was created from a very plain, easy to pick up burlap canvas. The embellishments of course make this a total original… but it’s the personalized DATE that makes this one a true winner for all kinds of reasons. Do you ever chime in your own signs with meaning?
Stencil info is included in this post.
Aaaand, here’s that monster post that took me a year or two to write. A whole year’s worth of goodness… PLUS, a little then and now info. How are these projects working out today?
Well, that was JUST FUN! Thank you for my fix! Let’s see what you’ve done this past week…

I would like to puchase a gather stencil. Where do I go to do that?
Hi Nancy! I’m uncertain. I don’t have one myself. Perhaps doing a google search may bring something up? I hope you find one!
