Gather up items from your own home with muted tones. Wood, black, metal, etc.
Start your mantel by placing your largest object on the mantel first. In my case, it was an old window.
Place two candle sticks on both sides of the mantel.
Now fill all the other areas with accessories by bouncing the sizes, colours, solid vs. transparent, etc. You just want to disperse the visual weight to feel good.
Add a dash of traditional fall with a small faded orange pumpkin.
To create creepy cloth, pull sections of cheesecloth so it looks uneven. Then arrange as desired.
To create foaming magic potion, place some pillow batting into glass bottles, then pull some up and out the top so it resembles steam.
For the very last step, spread out some faux spider web very thinly over various objects and features. The thinner it is, the more realistic it will look!
Light the candles, then enjoy your creepy ambiance!
