PJ 315 – DIY Salvaged Junk Projects

Every Friday, 7 PM through Sunday 11 PM Pacific

Happy weekend guys, and welcome back to piles upon piles of gorgeous junk, that help fuel your very own junk lovin’ soul!

I don’t know where the week went. My son had exams, so we did lots of running into town for this and that. After one run, a neighbour approached me with, “Ah, you coming home from work too?”

The only work I seemed to perform was motherhood this week! So, let’s just say I worked hard for the record. 🙂

Ok, I did take one bike ride on a nice day for an egg run from a local farm. Getting caught off guard with how pretty this tour was… well, that just made my week!

So… let’s get on with the junk! Here’s a few highlights from last week

If a rustic rusty tin ceiling sunflower doesn’t put a smile on your junk lovin’ face, nothing will. My disposition is better just having seen this. Can you imagine if this was actually hanging in your home?

This post has some really cute other creations from tin parts! Don’t miss it! Love this, Kristy!

I just want to print this picture out and FRAME IT. Until I land a rustic corbel to make a lamp with, that is. Karen, I’ll take TWO! Gah… outstandingly deliciously restoration hardware-ish.

So, this beautiful, rustic piece is something you’d expect to pick up at a furniture store. But if you are feeling handy, this one’s a total DIY from the ground up!

I’m smitten! I’ve yet to try a build I’d deem this challenging, but the plans look so do-able! Thanks for the kick, Ashley!

This project is not only easy, it’s GORGEOUS! Cassie makes you realize how close to beauty you can be, with just a few, simple scrap elements. Making this!

Vintage Scale Sign and Wall Hook by Denise on a Whim

What?! Denise, you have officially RUINED me.

Ever since my eyes landed on this vintage scale turned sign, I’ve been eyeing up my pile of junk. Reclaimed wood, we may have to take a rain check…

Celebrate Valentine’s day with a drift wood wreath you can leave out year around? I. Am. IN.

Such a sophisticated rustic, don’t you think? Really well done, Denise!

And even I made something! I banded together with 8 other (really good) building bloggers (why was I a part of this again?) and what they made will blow you away.

I stuck with my typical simplistic ways, with this DIY ladder specially made for the brunt of my stencils. It works fantastic!

All 9 projects lead to this post!

  1. So happy to have found you blog this week. True love. I linked a couple of upcycled Valentine’s Day tutorials–a leather catchall tray and a vintage box gift box. Have a great weekend–hopefully with some more bike action!

  2. The positive response to my scale has been amazing! Thank you for featuring it and for the kind words! It’s because of creative bloggers, especially you and a few others, that I started making stuff like this and began writing my own blog. So happy to think I might be an insipiration to others every now and again, too!

  3. Wow! Been quite awhile since I have been here. Looks great though! I have been finding old stuff around the house in our remodel and it always makes me think of you! Loving all the inspiration here.
