PJ 321 – the BEST DIY salvaged junk!

Every Friday, 7 PM through Sunday 11 PM Pacific

Hello my junk lovin’ friends! May your coffee be hot and your PJs be your clothing of choice this fine weekend, as you gaze through more junk inspiration!

It’s been a relatively quiet week on Funky Junk. Just a few behind the scenes dealings have kept me busy.

BUT… I did make this super cool garden junk orb from a broken barrel…

AND I did find a new trail during this bike ride… aren’t these surroundings swoon worthy?

Aside from that, I’ve had these internal stirrings to reach out and do something super inspiring through words. I don’t know what that means yet, but you can bet I’m internally searching… I’m thinking it may mean to sit down and write… lots. But on what I don’t yet know.

It’s another soul searching season I suppose… is there anything that stands out that you’d want to hear LOTS on? Maybe that’s the key… hearing from you.

What kinds of writings inspire you the most that you can’t seem to get enough of? I’d love to hear your thoughts!

So anyway… here’s what caught my eye from last weekend’s party…

I think big furniture pieces hold a real bonus, storage and presence wise. But sometimes something big can appear heavy.

This makeover changes that theory. Go stock up on your white paint and pretty stencils pronto…

And isn’t that paint job the coolest?

Don’t have any cool planters for this summer? Don’t dispair… put those plastic pots to work instead. I kid you not! AMAZING idea.

Angie’s farmhouse touches always steal my heart. I’ll take this entryway pronto!

But let’s just swoon over that mix of corrugated metal, wood and mason jar goodness, shall we? 3D art at its finest! Wouldn’t that make a cool magnetic board in an office too? Where are those tin snips…

This ottoman speaks to me on so many levels. It’s real vintage / you can store stuff if the top is made into a lid / it’s real vintage!!!

Dear crates, your days as a simple crate are numbered…

This gorgeous, genius project had my teen years rushing back to me, when I use to cross stitch. I couldn’t LOVE this more if I tried! Such a neat idea for any screen or mesh object, isn’t it?!

If you’re looking for ideas on what to do with misfit reclaims, this is your post, showcasing several. But my heart goes out to this sewing machine side table. It’s upcycled perfection… beautiful, useful, classic.

If you’re a collector, showing off our junkiest is what we love to do!

Here’s how to do it in such a way that doesn’t add clutter, nor need dusting. A window made coffee table gives you everything you need… , plus it becomes useful furniture! Does it get any better than that?

Being challenged to come up with a spring project, I started to clean up outdoors when WHOMP! A broken flower barrel gave up on me. But I didn’t give up on it…

  1. Donna, thanks for featuring my card catalog this week and for the painting compliment. I hated (yes strong but true) that cabinet, now I don’t think I’ll be able to part with it. Oh, and I always love reading your motivational posts. Have a great weekend!

  2. Hi Donna, so happy your descriptor is 100 spaces long and the thumbnails are large. Thank you for PJ 321. Love joining in and visiting. Totally awesome features this week. Angie does the best junk stuff. Love seeing great repurposing, barrel bands turned into junky garden orb – worked so well.
    Joy

  3. Great features as always! Thanks for hosting! As for what writings inspire me? Hmmm, not sure I know! Ha ha! I do love it when people speak from their soul, and share what inspires them…I will have to think on it, but if you feel inspired by all means, write!! You always have great thoughts! Happy weekend!

  4. Donna thank you for featuring my window coffee table! This party may be small compared to others but it is mighty! I always enjoy all the projects shared! Keep up the good work!

    • Thanks Leanne! I’ve purposefully cut down the size of the party (dramatically) for all the reasons you stated above. It allows others more in my own niche to shine through. Love our quaint, little gatherings, and wouldn’t have it any other way! 🙂

Thanks for your visits and participation!

  5. Thanks for the wonderful post. I am so looking forward to taking my time and drinking my coffee and reading each entry. But first I wanted to take a moment and tell you that I understand times and seasons when there are internal stirrings. Usually, it means God is preparing you for something new that lies ahead and you’re being prepared to embrace it. You are gifted with creativity in words and in designing. And whatever God is getting you ready for, I am surely looking forward to. Take your time and embrace and enjoy the process. Have a wonderful weekend.
