DIY Salvaged Junk Projects 372

Every Friday, 7 PM through Sunday 11 PM Pacific

Hey friends! Happy Friday and welcome back!

One day I hope to write, “Wow, I had so much time to DIY this week I made something EVERY DAY!”

Dream talk right there. But I did manage to pretty up my office downstairs, sharing my killer DIY day planner that you can whip up in minutes. It’s the ONLY one that has ever worked for me. And couldn’t be any easier to copy!

How to beef up DIY signs with unique multiple boards! By Funky Junk Interiors for eBay
I also did a new post that isn’t not on the blog, about a little trick I use to beef up my DIY signs. The key is using more than one board! Check out a few cool samples to copy on eBay HERE! (#ad)

In other fun news, have you watched Nashville on Netflix yet? Goodness… a friend mentioned it on Facebook and I haven’t stopped watching it since! Now if you like musicals, this is the perfect way to do it. They talk, and then they sing. Not sing talk. Or talk sing. Know what I mean?! I loved Beauty and the Beast but it was a little too sing-talky for me. I like my talk with a side of sing apparently…

I also don’t think I post enough on the blog. Somewhere along the line I told myself no one wants to hear about anything other than DIY. I know that’s not true, but my story teller voice has taken an unintentional hiatus. So… is there anything you’d like me to chat about a little more of? I could use a little coaxing. Something that is fun is rambling about a few different things like I just did in this post. Do you think a rambling kinda topic post would be interesting? Hmm…

Anyway, now that you have something (lots) to watch on TV, and you’re dreaming up amazing topics for me to post (thank- you!), make sure you squeak in a glance at these gorgeous features from last weekend’s party first!

If you think a typical adorable stool is in front of you, you would be missing a key ingredient on what to use for a top. What a cool idea!

If you’ve caught the world globe fever but don’t want to pay the price for one, try looking for old maps instead. This dresser front with the leather pulls is truly cool!

Nothing pleases me more than to see my stencils used in super authentically old ways. And I believe old wood is the perfect start!

But what really caught my sign making eye is the use of these TWO different stencils used together to create the perfect message in my own world.

Kinda makes me mumble, “Why didn’t I think of that FIRST?” 🙂

LOVE the tones!

I love a good fluke. Or so Susan says. But I really think creativity had a bigger part in this one. Love how easy these wreaths were to make! Something else is on my shopping list!

  1. Donna, I have yet to see Beauty and the Beast but now I’m very curious. Thanks so much for featuring my tin wall display!! Have a wonderful weekend!!

  2. I always love your posts, you have a fun, witty way of writing. Todays “ramblings” were fun and you should have more posts like that. I also really enjoyed your spring bike ride post. You were introspective and thought provoking in that one. Plus I love anything that involves nature and the pics were beautiful.

  3. Donna,
Thanks for hosting and yes…ramble on about creativity, business, priorities…whatever! You don’t need to continually crank out new projects, but I can totally relate to that battle, so talk about that too!

  4. always love to sit at some point on Sunday and look at all the wonderful projects! lovin that swing shelf.

rambling is good! we get to know you a little bit better.
