Highlight from SNS #15

To revv this party up, I’m going to show you one highlight from SNS #15 that really caught my eye. (please check the sidebar during an SNS event for many other highlights that will pop up!)

This is an old dresser that A little bit of Sanity revamped into a kitchen island. Look at the lines on this piece! The top is a ready made butcher block piece from Ikea, costing only $39! The entire island cost under $60 to make. I think the idea and end result is absolutely stunning.

If I ever redo a kitchen again, I’ll do something along the lines of using a real furniture piece as opposed to stock cabinets for the island. Why try to simulate a piece of furniture when you can have the real thing?!? Well done, Kirsty!

Blah blah rulesย for the SNS linkup:

1. Please link up your intendedย  post, NOT your blog. (post, then click on title of your post, cut and paste that url)

2. Please put a link in your post that leads back to the party so others can see what’s up! (scroll button on sidebar if you wish)

3. I’ve allowed 75 characters in the link title area, so go ahead and tell us you blog name AND project description. Go ahead. There’s room. ๐Ÿ™‚

*4. This party is geared for *DIY type projects we can all attempt to make ourselves. Items for sale may be linked up IF your entry is posted on your blog and in tutorial style (unless making the item is self explanatory).

Good luck, and happy weekend inspiration to all. ๐Ÿ™‚

  1. The Rusted Chain’s work is wonderful … thank you so much for the generous support for this bog and Haiti.

My favourite must be blessed too (although it was hard to choose between bloom, joy and bliss as well).

I can see myself coming back for a few more for gifts.

    Thanks again.

  2. I found your blog, tonite, by following a link from My Romantic Home. I LOVE your bedroom.

The necklaces are so sweet. Since I’m retiring in June, after 34 years as a special education teacher, I like the “Life is Sweet” necklace.

  3. I’m torn, between the Soar necklace, the Be necklace and those awesome fruit punch earrings which are so cute and colorful! If I win I’ll flip a coin or put them all into a hat to decide…too many great choices!

  4. Donna! There is this necklace with _____ chick on it! Can you believe it?! You get to choose the word before chick too, like HAPPY chick! WOW! Her stuff is unique and wonderful!

  5. Donna-I love these necklaces and have been drooling over them for quite some time! I have no idea which one I would choose, there are so many awesome ones on her site! So the $25 credit would be awesome! Thanks again!

  6. Wow love the island. Of course the blessed necklace is my favorite. But my husband and I are both cancer survivors, so I do like the survivor necklace. Great idea!

  7. I can’t wait to look at all the projects! I’m taking a break from taxes tonight and tomorrow, hooray!

Can’t leave a comment without entering for the beautiful necklaces. I admire what Beki is doing for Haiti. And my fav is the BE. Necklace. It speaks to me.

Thanks for hosting and thanks again for the feature!

  11. I would love the “All I Need”… sometimes I have a hard time remembering I really do have all I need, even if I only have a dollar in my pocket.

I love Beki’s stuff and have told everyone I know about her Haiti contributions.

  12. I already bought one of the “Blessed” necklaces and waiting to get it! Can’t wait! So, if I were to win, I would probably choose the “Shine” necklace because that’s pretty much my life motto.

  15. I gasped when i saw the “Create Dream Inspire” necklace. It is perfect for my soon to be daughter-in-law. She just graduated as an Art teacher (Create), just got her first official placement teaching (Inspire) and Dream…well they are about to embark on what I hope will be a DREAM come true life together. Could it be any more perfect as a gift for her?

  17. Looking through her shop, I felt very much like you did in your blog. I like this one, oooh wait, what about that. Wait! That one is great! It would be difficult to choose, but I love the “In Christ Alone” (I would give that one as a gift to my secret sister) and I also love the “blessed” one! So sweet they are! (I kind of sounded like yoda right then!)

  18. I adore Beki’s stuff and have bookmarked her site ~ I would absolutely love to win this GC ~ I would choose Blessed as not only would I have something pretty to wear but I would also be supporting something that is near and dear in all our hearts right now. Wish me luck!
