My new junky blog is LIVE!

Welcome everyone! It worked! It worked! Welcome to my new home!

But no need to remove your shoes.. the place is a little messy…

The formatting from blogger to WordPress is kinda wonky. And I have to remove double pin buttons, and a surplus of social media mayhem. But all in due time. We made it!

So I thought I’d just distract you for a moment with a few pretty spring flowers.

Is it working?! πŸ™‚

Thank-you so much Josh and Bethany! More on these two soon!

Right now it’s 2:00 AM and I stayed up because I noticed all my old drafts posted. Whoops!

Tip: before you move to WP, remove your drafted posts. You’re welcome!

p.s. I HAD to remove an old song reference in the title… I was going mad. πŸ™‚

  1. I have always LOVED your blog and won’t ever leave it, BUT, your advertising now is somewhat distracting as it takes up SO much of the page. I guess you intended it that way but wow! I hope your new look brings all that you want as you deserve only the best. I am not a blogger so I don’t claim to be any expert here but just making this comment as a blog stalker! LOL Good luck with your new adventures. I look forward to all you do.

    • Hey Vicki, we are still tweaking like mad, so thanks for your patience! There will actually be less advertising than the last round. Stay tuned and thanks so much for your input!

  2. Yoohoo welcome to the bright side!
Things are looking quite spiffy around here. Love the design. It is so very you!!! And every little detail matches.
    Have fun!
Oh, funny thing I just noticed that your favicon up on my tab is still a blogger one. But maybe it just hasn’t caught up yet.
Oh and I luckily noticed that that ‘notify me of followup comments’ option was selected. Glad I caught it because I wouldn’t want the 300+ comments that will come in after me, flood my inbox.
But that’s all details. IT LOOKS GREAT! Congratulations.

  3. Hey There~

Wish I had a HUGE monitor to see everything, very crisp and bright – Looks really great! I’ve been following and commenting since the beginning, so it’s been great to see your evolution through the years. We may be a continent apart but share the Love of Junk!! Rust Rules!! All the best in this new frontier of WordPress – looks like Hi-Def!

    • You can’t see everything?! Not good! What size monitor are you on and resolution? I have mine adjusted to the largest it goes… which I highly recommend for all regardless. You can catch in so much more!

  4. Lookin’ great! I love all of the rusty elements, so totally you. Not to mention that it loaded quicker that your old blog ever did for me!

  5. Love the new design! It does look high def on my Mac monitor, it is so clear. The only thing I don’t like is the ear worm you gave me with the title of this post. πŸ™‚

  6. Donna!
Love it, it looks wonderful. I don’t have one thing I see that needs tweaking…since you’re still working on it anyway…I didn’t see a reason to critique…
except I think I may have been cranial terrorized… I keep hearing music! (in. MY. HEAD! thank you very much)

  7. Donna, this is very cool! Everything has such a unique funky junk look! Hum…probably what you were going for;)
You have moved the bar up for the rest of us.

  8. Oh wow, Donna, your new site is awesome! So you! I love it…and am so glad it has gone fairly smooth for you. A move this big will have a couple glitches, but you’ll get through it.
    Debbie πŸ™‚

  9. Cheers for the new look! Not sure if you’re still tweakingβ€”sidebar buttons/ads (everything below Blogher content) don’t have active links for me (Chrome browser).

  10. Looks GREAT!! Love your new look! I’m working on getting my gravatar set up. Thanks for the tip. You’re always so good with that kind of stuff πŸ™‚

  11. HELP!!!! I’m comment #23 below. I am getting an email every time anyone comments!!! Can you fix it for me!!!

    Thanks! Charlotte

  12. Donna, your new site is great. As always your style is so simple and approachable, yet trend setting. I hope that you are now celebrating, any glitches can be resolved soon enough.

  13. Donna, I’ve been a frequent visitor and loved the “old” look. However, I have to say your new WP platform looks even more FABULOUS!! Congratulations! All your late nights have created a beauty!

  14. Your new blog looks great, Donna. It loads so much faster and has such a nice clean look, which I’m hoping you will keep. Great work.

  15. Good morning, I have sever pallets waiting to be taken apart and I want to make the walkway out of them like you showed. I also want to plant that sprawling plant but I have no idea what it is. Can you email me the name of it. I am in Zone 4 so hopefully it will survive our cold, snowy winters.

Thank you and love your junky gardens!

  16. Hi Donna! The new blog looks awesome! Congrats!!!

I think your header might be screwy on my end. The menu items are really hard to read and I am guessing that they are supposed to be lower down in the open, off-white space?

    Here is a screen capture:

I am using Google Chrome, so maybe it looks better in other browsers. Just wanted to let you know!

  17. Hi Donna! I noticed your new look earlier in the week but didn’t bother commenting through my phone. Had to come back and tell you how much I like it! It looks really great and it is still very user friendly!

I finally made the move to WP last month. I’m still working through wonky older posts. My biggest struggle has been with spacing issues. I’m thinking it might take a while to sort out but I’m trying to be patient with it.

    Have a great weekend!
