Happy junk weekend!

This past week I hired a handyman to do some trim painting on the house that I’ve been waiting on for some time. And what an impact that made!

But I think what I loved even more was to have someone around that I could bounce many more dreamy ideas off of. He had a patient and wise answer for everything. I hope to have him back to help out again, but I also am eager to tackle a few things on my own as well! Consider the creative fire lit!

I also landed two doors from the curb, and therefore, came up with a fun workshop update! One of the projects was a free and cool way to organize all. those. screwdrivers! I’ve wanted one of these for years! Visit the link above to see how pretty the table turned out as well! What a difference from a buncha warped boards!

So while I mull over what exciting big thing I’m tackling next, here are this week’s super coooool highlights from last week’s party…

  1. Your workshop organization projects remind me of many estate sale garages and basements, where the old handyman had repurposed all kinds of household objects. I always love seeing the old wooden cheeseboxes, peanut bar jars and cigar boxes repurposed into hardware containers and tool caddies. These recreations make so much sense and are way more aesthetic than plastic options! Thanks for the inspiration and hosting each week!

  2. thank you so much for including my tomato cage & galvie tray birdbath in your feature, Miss Donna! this is one of the easiest projects i’ve created for our back yard, to be sure. i’m thinking of making another one to sit in the front yard outside my studio window, too.

and funny thing…. this week i saw a photo on Pinterest that was saved from Martha Stewart’s magazine. she created basically the same thing i did in my project – but with a plant pot, turning the tomato cage into a (let’s see…. what was it she called it???….) ‘sleek modern plant stand’. you know Martha, she’s always on-trend. she just doesn’t call it JUNK!!!! LOL

  3. Thank you so much for featuring my china cabinet. I love how it turned out & the best part was that it didn’t take very long to do since I didn’t paint the whole thing! Thanks, too, for hosting the party. Have a great weekend.

  4. I just love the amazing upcycled ideas at your link party Donna! The tomato cage bird bath, has my wheels turning. 🙂
