Every Fri 7pm ย to Sunday 11 pm Pacific.
So, what can one do with vintage suitcases?
Songbird coated out her suitcase AND night stand, creating a gorgeous all in one side table. I remember this day well. I do believe she’s the one that invented the painting of a suitcase. This project went viral all over blogland.
Maple and Magnolia stacked color coordinated suitcases inside her fireplace. This is so pretty!
Use one for a coffee table like Monica with Red Wicker did.
Or simply stack them up for a sidetable alone. Both photos were taken by myself at ย Fieldstone Vintage Market.
And then there’s Red Hen Home that was inspired by Flea Market Style’s luggage on the wall, so she created her own. Isn’t this absolutely amazing?!?
Do you have vintage suitcases kicking around your place?

Every time I think of vintage suitcases I think of the teeny one that my favourite aunt would carry her ‘face’ in when she came to visit. Makes me smile every time. Thanks for hosting and the inspiration! ๐
Thanks for hosting, have a great weekend!
Thank you for hosting. Enjoy the rest of the weekend~
I have a Makita drill case my hubby gave me to go crazy with. It’s not vintage, but I’m looking forward to getting inspired by the projects we’ll see here! Thanks for hosting and for the 2-part linky lessons. Very helpful for us newer bloggers!
Thank you for all of the links to some wonderful blogs…Have a great weekend..
Thanks for hosting Donna!
So many great ideas…as always! ๐
I love decorating with suitcases. Thanks for hosting.
Well I painted my little old target night table so I just linked it up ๐ Thanks so much for the party ! I LOVE the vintage suitcases. I have 2 from my Great Grandmother that I will post ๐
Love the painted suitcases! The white is beautiful.
Thanks for featuring my suitcase wall, Donna!
Thank you for hosting this party Donna! I have fell in love with old suitcases this summer and linked up (#9) with how I got the smell out my stinky suitcase and then mod podged it. I also use a suitcase to hold most of my material in my sewing room, as the suitcase was much cheaper than plastic bins and has more organizational pockets to catch the scrap material.
Hope you have a wonderful weekend!
Janice
The old suitcases are wonderful. I especially am in love with the white one. Fabulous! The suitcase shelves are fabulous. Awesome features. Thanks for hosting!

I have 3 vintage suitcases that came from my grandparents and I just can’t think of painting them! But I do have them stacked in the living room inside are my high school yearbooks and sewing material. But the smallest holds my grandfathers bible, his old wooden dominoes and my grandmothers white gloves from the 1940’s. But I will be on the lookout now for more after seeing these ideas! Can’t wait to get started, thank you for hosting Donna!
Donna,
I want to thank you for the party and wish you a wonderful Fall weekend!
Thanks for hosting Donna! Have a great weekend!
I have a few vintage suitcases I stacked in the guest room for a nightstand and used them for display of linens and quilts at a craft show. I would love to do something adventurous like painting them but just can’t get the courage to “deface” them. Maybe I just love them as they are too much for now ๐
I love this site. I’ve lurked on it for a looong time now. So, I’d love to ask anyone interested, what would you do with a large china cabinet needed not necessarily for fine dining materials but for storage/pantry items? I’ve got a picture of the cabinet on my blog, if anyone wants to see…..
There is another great couple of vintage suitcases, ‘A Beautiful Mess’ made them, they look amazing. She decoupaged them with fabric. http://abeautifulmess.typepad.com/my_weblog/2011/10/make-your-own-floral-suitcase-.html
I also really like what Red Hen Home did!
Thanks for hosting & enjoy the weekend ๐
I love the vintage suitcase theme! I have several and actually use them on tour-how impractical when there are all these fancy swirling ones with patterns and what not. I just love them and can’t say no!
Hi Donna. Thanks soo much for hosting every week! I’m all linked up. You might like how I repurposed an old throw blanket into a beautiful throw pillow. : )
I love old vintage suitcases. The only thing I have that’s close to one is an old sewing box. It’s soo cute and I have it in my living room. Wish I could find more, but the prices on them is getting pretty crazy these days. I’ll have to hit more garage sales in the spring and hopefully come across some older people that just think of them as junk, so I can score them for a great deal. heehee
Have a fantastic weekend!!
~ Catie

lol, i meant great theme this WEEK ๐
Love the vintage suitcases Donna. I have four stacked up for an end table, old and rustic
just the way I like it. I use mine for storing lace and ribbons in. That makes one of them a twofer or double duo. Thanks for sharing.
Hi Donna,
I love, love, love old suitcases and have more than I really need. My MIL is visiting this week and actually told me that I was not allowed to buy any more old suitcases ๐
I linked a project I made with one of them.
Enjoy your weekend!
Jane
I’ve enjoyed viewing all the vintage suitcase ideas you’ve featured tonight but the ones hanging on the wall as shelves are incredible! Thanks for hosting this party each week, Donna. There are so many inspiring projects!
Hi Donna

Hey lady! Long time, no chat, haha! LOOK at how many links there are this weekend…wowza! It’s gonna take me a whole week to look through all this amazing stuff! Thanks for all the inspiration, Donna!
I just adore the vintage suitcase makeovers – I would love to do one myself by I feel so bad painting these vintage pieces… even though it always seems to turn out so beautifully!
This week I’m linking up my Pumpkin Pod Wreath (#195 in Crafts section). I had so many headaches trying to come up with some autumn wreaths this year – my first year making a wreath for the fall, actually! – but I think I finally managed to create a good one (thank you Michaels for your 90% off sale!!!) Don’t you just love it when a good sale just brings everything together?!
Thanks for hosting another wonderful party!!
Take care,
Christina

Love all of this. ALL! Now I need to shop for some vintage suitcases and a creative brain. ๐ Blessings.
I love the vintage suitcases. 36th Avenue had a great project too, she covered them in fabric, a totally different take on it.
Love the voting section. Thanks for hosting!
PS, how oh how do you sort through all these great link ups. My brain is spinning just looking through how many good ones there are! Your mind works much faster than mine!
Great link Donna!
as always!
My mother has been talking about making the stacked luggage end tables for some time now. She needs to see this post. My favorite was the floating luggage shelves. How clever. Some of them reminded me of old instrument cases (ie. for a saxophone or trombone, etc)
tagtHi Donna,
I just wanted to let you know that I found inspiration from your theme from this past week on vintage suit cases. I went to a yard sale this weekend and the only thing I ended up buying was a dirty old suitcase. Thanks to you! I can’t wait to get crafty with it!! Thanks
