signs

Grocery sign tutorial

I admit, I’ve made a few signs for my own place.

palette desk

And sometimes even in non standard sign locations. How fun is it lettering up the top of a desk?!?

bingo board tray

Ahhh… the memories of an online decorating contest. 🙂 Category – catalogue themed copycat

lattice wall hanging

front entry

These little SADY and LADY are authentic cow labels from my parents’ farm. I ADORE them. 🙂

bedroom window sill

And in my bedroom, I have a landscape tie that came all lettered up, fresh out of a palette boneyard. 🙂

the playroom

And then there’s the scrumptious storefront sign I scooped up from the local gas station boneyard. For free. 🙂

And the farm sign that came from my own yard growing up. 🙂

old crate stairs

Are mystairs signs or crates?!? I’d say both I suppose.

storybook sign table

Signs are not only graphically fun to glance at, some tell a story too!

Do you have a favorite sign in your own home? Why do you love it? And why do you think we’re all crazy for old vintage signs these days?

The 3rd themed sign linkup is waiting for your own creative input!

Next weekend – sticks/twigs/branches

Don’t have anything? I’m officially challenging you! Grab some twigs and go have some fun so you’re ready before next weekend!

1. Please link up your intended post, NOT your blog homepage url. (post, then click the title of your post, cut and paste that url) If your post has been deleted, please try again.

2. Please put a link in your post (button or text) that leads back to the party so others can see what’s up!

 3. This party is geared for DIY type projects we can all attempt to make ourselves. Items for sale may be linked up IF your entry is posted on your blog and in tutorial style.

4. For Home Decor and Crafts, Sewing, Cooking, please link projects up that are new to SNS and within 1 month old.  This helps keep content fresh! The 3rd weekly themed link may have older posts and not brand new to SNS.

  1. I originally found you at Junkmarket on your mattress memo board post and I thought that rocked. Now it’s the signs – thanks so much for the inspiration and great tutorial. Looking forward to making my campfires/ghost stories told sign now that I may know how!! 🙂

  2. I really like the sign used as a headboard – that is very creative! Lucky to find such a large piece for free! Thanks for hosting such a cool link-up…I actually made it here on time this week in order to jump in! Have a great weekend!

  3. Hi Donna. I am so glad and happy to be back with something to link up. Do you know I ‘save’ my furniture posts for the weekend so I can hang out at MissMustardSeed and Your SNS party!
Oh and I linked up an old sign post too. That is ok, isn’t it for the themed party to link up something older?
I can’t help wonder what is up with the comments on this post. You have already so many people who linked up to all three of the linky events and I am still only number 11 to link up.
Well than I’ll just have to speak for many when I see. Donna, signmakergirl, you rock! At making signs and at anything else too!
Love ye, have a great weekend.

  4. I love vintage signs! You have such an amazing collection. I used to have a big metal “Air Conditioned Rooms” Sign. Under that it said in parenthesis “College Men”. That was a hoot to have up in me and my roommates college apartment! Always got a giggle! 🙂 Thanks for hosting!

  5. Ok now Donna THIS is why I never get anything done around the house! Too many wonderful ideas, so little time.

I think I’m seriously in need of a 12 step program at bloggers anonymous!

  6. OK, I think this is a sign that I need to start making signs. I’ve got one. Hope to link up!

Yours are spectacular as are the other gals…oh my gosh!!!! All these people are artists!!!!

  7. LOVE your signs! Heck, I love everything you do. I become photo stalker chick every time you post pics of your house and projects. I’ve posted a sign I did back in February for your sign party. All the ideas just spark my imagination. Your parties are the BEST, thanks for hosting.

  8. Okay, I want cow signs. Or stencils. I could put them on my kitchen cabinets, then when some said “Where are the —– ?” I could say “Sady”
I thought you made that big sign in the playroom. I also love that Alaska Copper sign in the window. My daughter took a picture on her phone today to send to you. It was succulents in a fake concrete little planter that looked like a cog. Will send it later. Ann
