31 Days Blog to Biz / day 12 – trying to keep up behind the scenes

I will say, choosing to blog every day for 31 straight days on one topic keeps you B.U.S.Y!

So I thought  I’d take you behind the scenes today so you can see all that is being done in preparation for posts and how I’m takin’ care of biz in general. I hope you’re sitting down… this will tire you out. 🙂

upcoming Fall Mantel Party

This weekend (Fri 7pm pacific) I’m hosting a themed linkup party of ‘fall mantel’s. So I’ve been messin’ with my junk and my mantel trying to get them on speaking terms. The house is squawking about being a dumping ground but all in the name of art, right?

Be so very proud of me. These photos were shot in MANUAL, BABY! 🙂 No extra lighting! Golly be manual expert Stephen, you ARE aye rock star in my book.

(real writers must hate me)

Remember my post about sidebar sponsors? I swear this post isn’t about advertising them. This is truly all that I have waiting for me to do…

Creative project and review!

I’m so terribly behind in reviews coming up. This one is fun because I get to create something for you to… wonder about. 🙂 Here I’m playing with a creative idea for these cool printable architectural type letters you will LOVE (that are irresistibly junkified) by Artistic Letters.

A painting project!! Plus review and giveaway.

And then this stencil kit arrived in the mail! EEK. I think I’m going to choose a special corner in my photo studio to play with this one. I cannot WAIT to get some paint on these cool designs sent by Cutting Edge Stencils.

Something pretty just for you… and me!

This one’s sooooo embarrassing. The Pleated Poppy has been waiting an ETERNITY for her colourful fun happy review and giveaway event. (you feel that way with all this luscious colour) I got this in the SUMMER. Hello… why I haven’t yet been fired from my own blog yet I have no idea.

Way awesome review and giveaway…

And see this sweet thang? It’s one thing on it’s way from Katie’s Rose Cottage…. hyperventilate… her stuff is heavenly…

New FOLK project

Oy… I have 2 weeks to submit my new FOLK project and I haven’t even started. MUST. GET. LUMBER.

New FOLK junk submission

If I get approval, I’m gonna flaunt one of my alltime fav places where every square inch is decked out in amazing JUNK. Cross your fingers I land this one! Now I need to get over there…

HGTV

2 weeks to go for summer vignette submissions… eeee….

Writing

As for the ebook, I’ve been bad. Everything else seems to have taken over. One night this week I promise to not sit here and draft a post and choose to write instead. Oh yes I will!

Know what? I tallied my power list today and I had more blog duties to do than home and day job duties. Interesting… I’d swear I have a fun little blog business goin’ on here… wouldn’t you agree? 🙂

But hey, GOOD NEWS! I’ve finished one thing on my very large list. I wrapped up this photo shoot and

  1. I’m busy with spiders in my laundry, fruit flies in my kitchen, and a painted pumpkin giveaway…that I need to finish! You sound much more super busy though, I must admit! 🙂

  2. Goodness sakes you are busy, Donna 🙂 I think this is so great that you are sharing your personal challenges with us (your Fans) and letting us see YOUR life.

My blog is pretty basic and no 31 day challenge for me, but maybe some day. Right now I get to spend time seeing talented folks like you take these on, and I’m enjoying every min of it!

  3. Not as busy as you are, though I need to start practicing for the Opera..oops… I did get my headboard done and I caaannn’t wait to show it to you! Now, quit reading these FLUFFY comments and GO GET THAT LUMBER!

  4. I just wanted to say “Thank You” for doing this series. I fell behind a few days ago (sick kid and all) but quickly have caught up. It does get frustrating sometimes to see all the beautiful homes in the magazines and blogland but looking at my home, there are dishes on the counter, pillows on the floor, beds unmade, dogs that need a bath!! And your post about the cameras really helped as I don’t feel like I like my pictures AT ALL!!

    Big Hugs to you,
    Kristal

  5. Donna;
I’m am constantly in awe of you! You may be behind but your posts don’t suffer because of it. They are always beautiful, helpful and full of great info and inspiration. I’d say you are right – you do have a great blog business going there!
    Have a great day!
    Elisa

  6. Wow Donna you have way too much on your plate.

I recognize one of those projects… I just used a stencil from them in my hallway on the weekend. If I can make a suggestion…take it out of the box and hang it up. I had a heck of a time getting it to lay flat.

Can’t wait to see which one you got.

  7. I have read your blog and have been so inspired by your creativity. I love your style. Tonight I had some extra time and was browsing back through your posts and read about you vertigo illness. I was shocked, I have had this problem for years. I’m always afraid of when it might hit hard. I can no longer do many things that I used to do. I used to ride amusement park rides with my son when he was small and had to stop. I can’t walk in the dark and so many other things I used to take for granted. I have had tests ran and got tired of what I think were guesses on their part as nothing has worked. I was just amazed that after all the time I have read your blog that I have just now read that part. I just want you to know that I admire you even more now if that is possible. Keep up the great work. I love seeing what you come up with. I hope you are able to find help with your vertigo.
