This funky little side table has a secret. Actually, two!
#1. It’s a toolbox on wheels.
#2. Wait till you see what it can store…
You saw it here first… official remote storage! YAHTZEE!
(bustin! this is what we say in Your Funky Junk to something pretty spectacular)
When I went on my little weekend trip to Hope, I came upon Jim’s 2nd Hand. Jim’s isn’t online. This is a place where you actually have to go visit the town to check out. It was a total fluke I found it, but I’m so glad I did!
Jim is apparently into estate sales, so he has a LOT of stuff. So much so, I visited the store 3 times and kept finding new things. What a treat!
As soon as my eyes landed on this tool kit outside the front door for all of $20, I knew it would be mine and I knew what it would be.
I’ve looked forever for a long skinny kind of table top in between two chairs. And the wheels are perfect for our ever revolving chair movements.
What I didn’t expect was all the storage. That is just too cool. BOTH sides have that with the other side being even deeper. NICE.
I knew it was in rough condition, but I cleaned it up and tried it as is anyway. I mean, the colour was great!
Check out those rusted metal corners, Skye! I couldn’t have planned that better myself!
Things drastically improved once it was cleaned up. I love the color ,which is a warm white. It’s perfect!
The top has just enough room for a rustic basket and vintage radio, picked up from my junker brother’s garage sale. I’m getting some great milage from ‘the sale that wouldn’t have a thing I’d like!’
That is one cool table! But as you can see, inside needs help, so I’d feel better if I just cleaned up the whole thing, then distressed it. You know… a clean beat up. If that term isn’t yet in Wikipedia, it ought to be.
Here’s the other side… it’s SUPER deep and perfect to hide my son’s gaming apparatus.
A funky tool box side table with hidden junk storage is gonna be even more awesome after a little elbow grease!
And then there are those that think it’s the cat’s meow JUST the way it is…
Sorry, couldn’t resist.
