Happy weekend!

We have been enjoying a mini heat wave on BC’s west coast which is so unlike us! You know summer is approaching here when you can take off for a trail ride on the bike and not feel chilled once entering the forest! I LOVE the feeling of freedom that evokes!

This past week I did share my newest toy. Isn’t she a beaut?! After MUCH deliberation, I chose this miter saw for some pretty slick features which I share in the post. And now of course I want to redo my workshop so it’s just as pretty as that miter saw…

I meant to write a LOT more. I had big plans. Everything was going great. Until I got tied up on the computer for a couple of days (it happens). But hey, I took some pictures…

So you may see the odd photo of home while I am away starting next week.

However I’m really hoping to just write about where I am instead… yes, I am jumping on a plane for some much needed R&R and a little soul searching to my most fav happy place in the whole wide world. Any guesses?!

It’ll be a long stretch, so all my feeds will most certainly change over for a spell. Hope you can handle the beauty! I consider Maui my 2nd home and will be portraying it as such.

I’m also taking some stencils along in case the creative bug hits, or let nature speak up and try something new. I’m already plotting out a mini lanai makeover (like I did HERE) since I plan to spend a LOT of time in ‘my outdoor living room’.

I also hope to keep these weekend party posts going too! I know how much you miss them when I stop. And goodness knows I will need something productive to do I’m sure. The odd one may get missed, (forgive me if that happens…) however my plans are to not miss.

I also want to dig deep and share a little more of why I am there. New surroundings pull something special out of my soul, and I am hopeful the length of my stay will get me to that peaceful place I am striving towards.

Ya know, these little mini recap ramblings on these party posts are pretty therapeutic so I am starting something new instead of putting them here. It’s called RAMBLINGS which I will share each week. They are a bunch of these types of musings all thrown into one blog post. Because it’s seriously hard to stop nattering when I do this, and this IS a link party after all! 🙂 Ramblings will start next week.

Instead, I’ll attempt to ramble about something DIY in these posts.

SQUIRREL! Back to you! Here are some pretty amazing highlights from last week’s party. I certain you will agree!

  1. i saw Sarah’s industrial style organizer when she shared it on facebook, and loved it! i used to pick those Tupperware pieces up at thrift stores, and they served as a paint palette when i was painting trompe l’oeil murals & furniture. each section perfectly held a different color of paint, and the big lid snapped on to keep it from drying out at night.

have a great vacation in your happy place, Miss Donna! ~ Deb

  2. What a nice surprise to be featured here today. Thank you so much. My chairs sold to someone who saw them when I posted them on Facebook and I have to say I was a little sad to see them go! But, on to the next project!!! Thanks for hosting the party. Have a wonderful time at your home away from home.

    • Those chairs were GORGEOUS! Such a unique shape. It’s no wonder they sold so quickly! And yes, more room for more unique creations now. haha

See you on the other palm tree’d side!

    • Your DIY bricks totally spoke to me Diana! I can see a bunch of them actually stacked in amongst a real brick pillar or similar… adore the messages!

Thanks for the well wishes. I hope to bring some new inspiration home with me after this run!

  3. I always love to see the DIY’s and now excited about “ramblings”

I’m been rambling these days…creative soul searching so these may just help me as well!

    xo

    • Yes. YES! You get it. Sometimes you just have to ramble. You have no idea how many of my own questions I answer doing that! LOL

Creative soul searching is such a perfect term. I am hopeful my new location for a spell draws out something brand new…

  4. I love your garden markers. I collect old bricks to make walkways and borders in my garden. Your markers have inspired me to make some garden markers out of some of my old bricks using my dremmel! Thanks your the inspiration!
