A cool vintage purse and a passion

I’ve always been partial to vintage thift store purses but have never really found one I could fall in love with. Until today.

There’s a cool place in my town called Unika, which sells new and used fashion items. One of their specialities is their vintage purses.

Well, this one stopped me at a complete lurch! With a belt styled strap and graphics resembling grainsacks, it was mine before I could remove it off the rack.

I had to be hip for my Bella trip after all! Which incidentally started tonight. I drove into a hotel again as my flight leaves at 7am. This way I only have to get up at 4am, not 1:30. 🙂

My funny little hotel room resembles a ski lodge this round. I have me a loft!

On my way out here, I actually got pretty emotional. I’m sure there are those that travel frequently and maybe don’t even like it. But for me, it feels like an amazing honour.  Once upon a time I dreamed I would be able to travel in order to encourage others in person. And I got outfitted with exactly that and much, much more.

Ya know, I worked my day job for 20+ years and didn’t even desire to have a website. I didn’t want to sell online and I didn’t even want advertising on my truck. I didn’t want people flagging me down on the street to belt out more of the same work.

So instead I fire up a little passionate hobby, build a blog, spend countless hours (years) sharing my thing because I WANT to, and 3 short years later, I’m being flown to Nashville to speak in public about it.

Nashville, I hope you’re ready for the likes of me. Cuz I have lots to say on all this. 🙂

All Bella updates can be found HERE.

In memory of Think Pink for Cindy

Today was also the day we had a graveyard memorial for my niece Cindy. It was very emotional but lovely all in one. I’ll miss her Celebration of Life tomorrow but I’m hoping the gang will take some pictures for me. I hear some of them are even wearing pink. 🙂

  1. You scored a cool find! Looks just like you.
What a quirky little room 😉 I’ve never seen one like it.

Thinking of your niece’s husband, kids, family and you during this difficult time. Would love if cancer was a thing of the past… it’s so destructive.

  2. Love the purse. And, you’re off. A beginning to a whole new adventure. Can’t wait to hear all about it.

    Hugs & prayers for Cindy.

    Have a great time!

  3. I stayed in that motel/hotel about 11 years ago. It was very strange. Love the new bag. Seriously love it! Have a great time in Nashville. I think the idea of a “Celebration of Life” is just lovely. It is good to remember, share and rejoice.

  4. Lovin’ that bag, and the hotel, too, so much more fun than the norm.

Keeping Cindy’s family in prayer, I know this is so heartbreaking for all of you.

Be careful, and enjoy your trip. Nashville! How wonderful.

  5. I love Unika! I’m glad I found that little ol’ store by accident one day coming back from Chilliwack lake. Glad they sell Toms shoes as well! Have a splendid time in Nashville Donna – you are gonna inspire so many people with your story!
