Welcome to DIY Salvaged Junk Projects 446

Every Friday, 7 PM through Wednesday 11 PM Pacific

Hi all! Welcome back to another riveting junk-filled weekend!

So what’s new here?

I’ve been diligently working off to-do lists doing a killer job at it I might add! I’ve got all my tax receipts sorted to date (YES YES YES!) for a good start!

But if something doesn’t land on that list, I forget. So my lists continue to grow to ensure I gitter done. Lots of exciting things on the horizon I can’t wait to share with you soon!

I am also going to list some time for some DIY next week to ensure it actually happens! My place is begging for fall touches and watching others produce it is driving me into a frenzy…

I did write one post thought that helped me out of a BIG slump. I was caught in a vicious spiral of angst over something so I decided to drop it and just ‘go to church.’ 🙂 But the message was no where near what I thought it would be. If you’re fighting something, this advice is pretty eye opening that I KNOW will change your way of thinking instantly… it’s super neutral advice so it suits all.

Back to you, let’s check out what you brought over from last week’s fabulous party…

I’ve dreamed of crossing those arrows on something and Susan beat me to it, AND proved it’s as beautiful as I imagined! Kinda inspires both adventure and coffee doesn’t it? Also adore the aging technique shared in this post!

My goodness… I knew I loved the look of leather, but to see it on a pumpkin is sublime. What wonderful tones and texture! Really creative tutorial from a very unexpected source…

Yes. Yes, thank-you! No-sew is my jam and until I unearth the sewing machine and missing pedal out of storage, this is a great way to celebrate fall through fabric and no machine in sight!

I’ve always been a lover of flannel, but this stencil and bleach enhancement just upped that considerably! I cannot wait to try these enhancements! Aren’t those mini stencils the BEST?!

Thank-you Carlene, for sharing what’s possible with my huge stack of old books that are doing nothing but collecting dust! This would be a very fun project for a journal kind of book too!

And special mention to THIS post where Carlene shows you how to create a plaid that matches up to a shower curtain…

Oh my goodness… could a planter get any more unique?! Absolutely beautiful.

  1. Donna,
I am so honored to be featured but a double feature is awesome!
Your parties are always my favorite! I appreciate you so much.
You are so sweet and have the best comments for everyone that links up.
I am so glad you liked my flannel shirts. You would look darling in one!
The new sew pumpkins are so easy and take about 5 mins. to make.
Thank you for hosting and have a wonderful week.

    • My pleasure Lisa, and I so appreciate you bringing over your unique creativity each week! I adore your work! And you have me dreaming of some mini stencils so I can blast out a few of my own shirts… so inspiring!

  2. Love flannel also. Been searching goodwill and apparently everyone else loves it too cause I can’t find one to fit! Looks like you have been busy. Live the guitar. Just recently added one to my garden, metal outline of one that used to be a CD holder now recycled to hold a couple of pots next spring. Have a great day.

    • Yeah, I think flannel is just such a hit it’s hit and miss these days. They are plentiful in stores at least! Your ‘planter’ sounds so creative! And look-it you planning for next spring already…

    • My pleasure Carlene! And you appear to have enough stencils in your stash to do something amazing to a flannel shirt I’d bet! A flannel pillow would be fun too! Hmmm… I think I need to search for my sewing machine now that I think of it…

  3. Donna,

Another great party! Love the vintage labels and postcards, fabric and leather pumpkins, quilt fix. Flannel is a favorite but hard to find heavy flannel. Everything in the stores is light weight, even checked out the thrift stores. Nothing.

    Happy Thanksgiving this weekend!

    • Hey Nancy, I hear you loud and clear. It’s always a challenge finding something we are searching for at a thrift store. I find it best to walk into those places with the frame of mind, “I have no idea what I’ll find but when I do, I know I’ll love it!” haha

  4. Donna, THANK YOU!! Made my day to have my stepmom tell me, “I saw your pumpkin on Funky Junk!” Love all the featured projects this week. You have a talented community coming together on your site and I’m soaking up the inspiration.

  5. I have been your blog follower for ages. I’ve returned to blogging after a short hiatus. Visiting you again has given me the ‘push’, I so, wanted.
    Thank you for the party.
    Plenty of love from Dubai.
    Naush
