Hi everyone! Welcome and a very Happy New Year to you!

2018 Christmas winter bike ride-4982

So… last party I mentioned I took an epic bike ride on Christmas Day. This change was unexpected but surprisingly, it made this one of my fav Christmas Days to date!

So I posted some pretty pictures of my ride (read post HERE) and a chat about changing traditions. If you’re struggling to find a new normal, you’ll appreciate this read.

On New Year’s Eve, I had a lovely evening in, then New Year’s Day, I decided to take all things Christmas down so I could start planning some new renovations… sad to see the tree go but I couldn’t see myself pounding nails with all that stuff still up.

Anyway, I’m looking forward to some fresh new beginnings… how did you spend New Year’s Eve? ( my lights were turned off by 11:45 pm! haha)

Back to the party, here’s some super cool highlights from last week’s party…

  1. You just got that Christmas stuff up, and now you’re taking it down? Sounds like me;) But mine’s still all over the house; weekend project. I’m still mulling over what I did and didn’t do last year before I can move on;) Happy 2019, Donna!

    • Yeah…. I would have loved to leave the trees up a little longer with just lights however the real tree stopped drinking water 2 days prior and was really starting to drop needles aka fire hazard. And on the faux tree, the middle string of lights went out. That was a nice look! haha Guess this year was meant to be a short Christmas!

  2. Thank you Donna, always, for your 459th DIY Salvaged Junk Projects. Happy New Year. Loved your Christmas trees in the living room.

  3. I have to admit that I took my Christmas stuff down a couple days after the holiday. We had a nice warm day outside and I couldn’t pass that up for taking down the outside lights. Then the next day the decorations and tree inside came down. Then it was time to clean the house (ugh). Because the house looked bare then, the Valentine’s Day bin came out and now that’s up. 🙂

  4. Hi Donna,

Christmas comes down day after and Valentines goes up. Now doing my purging and I do have Marie Kondo’s book. Bought it last year when you mentioned it in one of your posts. Happy New Year, Donna.
