Welcome to DIY Salvaged Junk Projects 534

Every Friday, 7 PM through Wednesday 11 PM Pacific
Welcome!
This past week I gave myself permission to slow down.
While the numbers in our province are low, travel has opened up encouraging us to stay within our own province… but I’m not even entirely sure I want to go elsewhere. Anyone else uneasy about staying in someone else’s air through a hotel or rental?!
I think this is the summer for camping myself. And since I no longer have all that, I just may very well stay put. So slowing down may end up being the only vacation I get this summer!
Think you’ll be doing anything fun this summer away from home? Or staying put?
So this past week, I dug deep and finally edited a LONG overdue tutorial I’ve been wanting to share for a very long time… nearly a year in fact!
Paint pouring lid hack by Funky Junk Interiors
I’m a long time user of Fusion, however because of my lazy clean-up ways, the lids always got stuck. But after a convo with a friend suggesting a super simple hack, I bolted for the drill, and have never looked back! This pouring lid hack flat out works!
I also started a somewhat quirky project yesterday, so here’s hoping my lazy ways of late can get that one done at least for next week!
Back to you… I was smiling ear to ear as I wrote this post… the creativity bounced off the page this round! You just wait and see…
Here’s some amazing features from last week’s party…
DIY Salvaged Junk Projects 534 features:
Miniature toilet paper storage crate by A Crafty Mix
Back in the day I decorated a bathroom, and not even thinking twice, hung up a crate with a license plate to store toilet paper in. Little did I realize how copied that one small idea would become!
But Michelle wins this round, because she took the exact idea and turned it into a miniature! How epic is this?!
This post is a must visit. I mean… even the rolls are the real deal! Click the link to visit my original AND see how this was made… right down to the real toilet paper!
Decoupage napkin flowers on glass jar by Purple Hues and Me
Upon first glance, I thought this was beautiful watercolour artwork on this glass jar. But I couldn’t have been more wrong… it’s MUCH easier than that! Click the link to learn how! Stunning, huh?
Patriotic Sweater Popcorn by Homeward Found
Baaaahahah… Read this post so you can hear how Deb’s creative mind reels out of control in the very best of ways. This my friends, is sweater popcorn. But she also makes ice cream…. click to this charming visit!
Mosaic bowling ball garden art orb by Selep Imaging
Team up a bowling ball and broken china, and wow… could you even imagine this?! Neither could I! This is one stunning piece of garden art! Click to learn all the details!
Sail boat shelf filled with junk houses by Junky Encores
I love it when Kim loads her booth with her creative treasures, because we get to be inspired by her newest junky house creations! This little boat shelf certainly landed in the right hands, didn’t it?! Click the link to follow Kim on Facebook, where she shares her latest!
That trailer though…
Bike wheel summer flower wreath by Simply Chic Treasures
I’ve been on the lookout for bike wheels to hang on my shed, but NEVER did I ever even think of making a wreath out of one! This is stunning. Click the link for the full details!

ps: that paint jar lid hack? GENIUS!
….and if a cute project featuring TOILET PAPER isn’t the most PERFECT sign of the times right now, i don’t know what is!!!!
Donna ☻ a nice weekend!
Thanks so much for the feature Donna, and thank you for creating your newest set of stencils just in time to add my fav #5 to this shelf, lol 🙂
I can’t wait to put the rest of the stencil to use.
Oh my word, that paint lid hack is BRILLIANT! One of my biggest beefs with plastic paint jars is the stuck lids. Heading down to the workshop this morning to do some drill’n! Have a great weekend!
Donna, I kind of feel the same way about venturing away from home right now. When the pandemic started and then we were told to stay home by our governor, I hopped on the internet and ordered a portable hot tub for our patio! I thought if there was a chance that we would be staying home all summer long, I wanted to be able to relax at home. So a backyard staycation it will be this year!
Thank you for the feature and sweet comments, Donna! There are always so many great ideas and inspirations! What an honor to be included!
I’m so excited to *finally* have a project to share that fits your party! I’m sharing my upcycled memo boards. Now following you on Facebook and Pinterest, and pinned your gallery photo. Happy 4th!
Hi Donna, Thanks so much for including my bike wheel wreath! Hope you had a great weekend. Also, thanks for sharing about the paint hack. I have a few jars of fusion paint and had the same problem as you.
