My girl Cindy needs your prayers please. Immediately.

Sorry to take you away from the weekend link party, however some things are just more important. In fact, this is probably the most important post I’ve ever made.

Just recently, my nephew’s wife Cindy was diagnosed with cancer. We had NO idea. None.

She was admitted last week when the bad news hit. She has choriocarcinoma.

If you google it, you will find it’s a cancer that has a good success rate. However, Cindy crashed. There were major complications going wrong faster than you could name them, so they couldn’t do radiation right away. It was too late. They quite simply had to save her life first.

While waiting, the cancer spread. She’s in critical condition.

I fired up a post on my facebook HERE, requesting to keep her in your thoughts and prayers. And you did just that. You blew me away in fact!

My sister and niece flew out in 2 hours notice to be with her. These were my sister’s words this AM after seeing the facebook post by all of you:

Donna you are my strength now, this brings tears to my eyes and everyone in this house. It truly did work, there was a thumbs up for chemo when the prayers came our way, uptill then it was very doubtful they could do it. This is so scary, like living a nightmare. Kids are pulling us through this and making us smile and laugh. Hugs and kisses back.

Something changed. They were able to administer chemo! (thanks to you) Everyone was elated! And another round was scheduled.

Cindy also found your messages and said:

“These make my day!!!! Loving all the support, makes everyday easier!”

Cindy swingin' a pink wig!

I caught her on FB jokin’ around even! She was preparing to lose her hair and mentioned she wanted a pink wig. A friend brought this little number over for her and she was delighted. LOL!

But…

Something isn’t right yet again. This was Cindy’s last message on FB moments ago:

“Things are getting worse so we are now going hour by hour. Blood count keeps dropping. I’m continuing on with treatment in case I get that one shot that it works out. Fighting hard for my babies. I love and thank everyone for all their support!!!!”

I feel so utterly helpless. So posting about this is all I could really think of to do to help. I know numbers in prayer make a difference. So here I am.

Cindy is a pure optimist. There isn’t much that can get this girl down. She is strong! She’s been through a whole lot. She finally got herself into a place with a loving family, a baby girl after a very long wait, a new move to a new home, and now this.

If you would pray for Cindy and keep her in your thoughts over the next little while, I can’t tell you how much my family and I would appreciate this.

Would you consider sharing this post? Pinning, whatever it takes? I’m hoping to spread the prayer chain as much as possible. This is about my girl. I want to see her go home to her family.

Thank-you!

  1. Praying for Cindy! Thank you for sharing her story. I will share it on my blog to go live tomorrow. God is in control! God bless Cindy and the entire family. Take care, audrey ♥

  2. I am so very sorry that she has to go through so much! She seems like quite an upbeat and strong-willed person – a very good combo. My Grandmom passed away from complications of her 8th cancer this past Spring and my mother-in-law is preparing for chemotherapy treatment after removing a cancerous tumor a few weeks ago; I completely understand the pain and the petition for prayer. Cindy, as well as you and your family, will be in my prayers for sure!

  3. I am sharing this on my Facebook so that all my believing Friends can come in agreement for an outstanding and powerful testimony of what God can do! As well, for the family and all who are affected with this difficult time.

  4. Praying in faith that Cindy will strengthen daily and that this cancer will diminish. God is in control and yes there is power in prayer! Although I do not know you, I am a christian and I take every opportunity to pray for needs I see, read or hear about. I treat this as you were my own family and I would definitely pray hard for a loved one, this is no different! Isaiah 41:10

  5. I will be praying for her. I went through this with my best friend. Her blood count is dropping because of the chemo. It should start to come up in a day or two. Chemo practically kills you before the cancer has a chance to. I am so hoping all this works….so glad she has you and the rest of the family.

  6. As soon as I read your post, I started praying–may you and your family find strength and comfort in knowing that others are holding you close in our hearts and prayers.
    Jeanette

  7. Donna, I am so sorry to hear of Cindy’s illness! I hadn’t seen your Face Book post, so am glad I came to read your blog. Cindy, you are in my thoughts and prayers. I pray that treatment will make you well and for God to guide the doctors and others who will administer care to you . All the optimism I hold in my heart, I send to you. Be strong, have faith and be well. Much love to you and your family, Leena
PS – diggin the pink wig – you go girl!

  8. Donna- You have my prayers going up right now. She just needs to hang in there and her blood count should come back up. I am sure she is frightened and scared…and even though she has everyone around her this is something each person faces completely on their own. Blessings to her and peace for her soul. xo Diana

  9. What a beautiful face and spirit. I don’t know you, Cindy, but I love you and am sending you all my thoughts and prayers. May you pull through brilliantly and dance your way home to your family.

    Lots of love,
    Juliette in California

  10. I’m sharing this on my blog, on Facebook and emailing this to everyone I can think of. As I pray for her healing, I will also pray for she and her husband to feel the Lord’s love and guidance for every decision there is to make.

  11. Where two or more are gathered in My name, there I am also. Matthew 18:20

We are all praying for Cindy and probably many more who aren’t writing you about it.
Love to Cindy, her family and friends.
    Paula

  12. Count me in please – when enough people send out prayers or positive thoughts to the universe with just one message I really believe it can land right where it’s supposed to.
I so hope she gets better ( soon )
I’ll post this on my blog for whatever extra prayers that brings her way – each one counts……………..
    Hugs,
    Suzan

  30. I came across this story on facebook. I’m so so sorry that someone so young, beautiful, full of life, with young kiddies and so much more to live for is going through such trials. I DO believe in the power of prayer. 8 years ago my own son was given 24-48 hours to live and when all medical science appeared to be failing, the power of God gave us a break through. And he made a complete recovery. Sending love, prayers and good wishes in abundance your way.x

  54. Donna,
So sorry to hear about Cindy. I pray that she gets better, I pray that her children will get to continue to enjoy their mommy for years to come and pray for strength for your entire family and that God looks over all of you, and heals her. This was so hard to read and not feel the pain you must all be going through. I don’t know you personally, but it brought tears to my eyes. How hard this must be for your family. It’s just so tragic to see someone so young go through something do devastating, especially with all that she has going for her. May God bless her and your entire family and her babies.

  55. Praying for Cindy and joined the facebook group. Now I am planning on how to get my pink on to support Cindy.

  56. oh Donna, I will surely pray for your sweet niece. I am so sorry this is happening to the family and believe me when I say I know how you all feel. I just lost my husband to cancer just over a week ago. His battle was short, we found out he had lung cancer (a shock since he has never been a smoker) and he died 25 days later. We are all still numb. Prayers to lift Cindy, you and all those who are taking care of Cindy up. Find strength in the shadow of his wings!

  57. I’m so sorry to hear about your niece. 🙁 What I can say that may offer some hope is I know someone who was diagnosed with cancer and decided to forgo the typical toxic medical treatments in favor of all-natural and not only is he here today but 100% healthy. Radiation and chemo literally assault the body and kill cells. His plan was all through whole foods, herbs, and a vegan diet-no meat and no dairy. Often animal proteins are what cause cancer to begin with. He also bought an alkaline ionized water machine for the kitchen-cancer cannot live in an alkaline body. Now that he is healthy after doing a whole year of research on cancer and what prevents and cures it he is writing a book on curing and preventing cancer the natural way. In his research the doctors even said they’d never take radiation or chemo because it only works in 10% of lucky cases. Even they know it is toxic to the body. I say all of this not to judge her course of treatment but to give you hope-there is still another way-the natural way. Your niece is so young and vibrant in these photos and she is in my prayers, such a hard time for the entire family. I pray she makes it through so she can continue to be a mom to her kiddos and wife to her husband.

  58. This is sad, but our hope is in God! Will be praying for God’s divine intervention Donna. He knows exactly what to do and He alone can do it.

  59. Just now reading. So sorry to hear this news. Sending prayers. I hope as I catch up in reading that the news gets better. Peace be with you, Cindy and the rest of her family.

  60. Ekaka. When I found your email ekakaspelltemple@yahoo.com I was so frustrated with what had recently happened. There were two of us in line for a great promotion at work. However, I was not willing to fix the books like my manager wanted so I did not get the promotion the other guy did. I really needed that to survive as I was barely getting by on my measly pay. I found your site and knew what I wanted I wanted my manager to finally be caught, along with the guy that now had the promotion, wanted them both to get what they deserved. A week after requesting the ramshackled finances revenge spell our company was audited, the accounting discrepancies were found and the people responsible were let go and brought up on fraud charges. I now have my ex-managers job and don’t expect my employees to fix anything other than their mistakes.
