Greetings and welcome to another weekend of fun upcycled projects to make!
While I didn’t upcycle, I did do a particularly big cleaning project, so I’m counting that a win!
How to clean Ikea sofa covers… and keep them white!
It’s a major event in my home when I clean the white slipcovers on my two Ektorp sofas. So after 3 years of experience, I’m finally sharing how I keep these things white with a young male adult, two cats and full-time snackin’ me in the house!
So if you’ve ever dreamed of white sofas but were a little afraid of the commitment to all things white, read what I do, what I use, what I regret and much more! Then go shopping right after. You’re welcome!
Hopefully next week these sofas will have paved the way to a fresh and clean newly decorated fall living room… or at least a start, right?!
So let’s now peek at some other pretty unique upcycled projects from last week’s party…

Piano kitchen bar
Reclaimed kitchen bar from an old piano by A Pretty Happy Home
With all the freebie pianos I’ve bypassed in the past year, this project makes me think I should take a second look, because this lovely kitchen bar is perfection! Love a good upcycle with a story, and this one would be that! This whole carriage house is so lovely with tons of vintage warmth. Take a peek and see what I mean!
Vintage suitcase art station
Upcycled suitcase journaling station by Thriving With Less
I know what you’re thinking. “What a cool coffee table!” But nope, that’s not what this is although it could be. It’s filled with special treasures for those who like to dabble in arts, writing or otherwise. Go take a peek because it’s so cool!
Faux sand covered pumpkins
Faux sand painted pumpkins by Homeward Found Decor
We’re about to see loads of unique pumpkins coming on board, and this one is one of them! Who’d think of a sand finish? Deb would! She gave these pumpkins a faux sand beachy vibe that couldn’t be easier to do! So cool!
Glam copper pumpkins
DIY copper pumpkins by The House On Silverado
Speaking of pumpkins, if you’d like to elevate yours to next level glam, consider giving them a luxurious copper sheen like this group! What I love about this pumpkin tutorial is that it will work with ANY pumpkin you may have. Aren’t they the cutest staged in a group?
Raised tile wall art with stencils
Raised tile wall art by Creative Moments
Wish you had some custom art in your home to chime in with a color scheme? Here’s how to make some using a stencil and a raised medium to give a 3D effect! There’s some great tips for those who stencil because you can honestly take any stencil to this level of interest! Learn how through this tutorial.

THANK YOU for featuring my raised tile wall art!! Appreciate it 🙂
thank you SO much for including my sandy pumpkins in your feature this week, Miss Donna! they’re my way of succumbing to the siren call of ‘pumpkin season’ – even tho it’s in the triple digits here in Southern California and feels NOTHIN’ like fall! 😉
(ps: i had white IKEA sofas in my farmhouse in Washington – LOVED them. and you’re right, using washable slipcovers is a game changer!)
