Greetings, friends!
It’s been an exciting week… I managed to finally flip THIS area of my kitchen with one of my longest standing projects into an all new look for the entire space! It’s changed a little over the years, but always with the same desk and wall setup.
I couldn’t complete the post in time for this week, but it’s coming your way next week! It involves a GOOD solid upcycle you don’t see done everyday, that. is. for. sure! I keep entering the room and loving it all over again… more soon!
Reclaimed wood cow planter boxes by Funky Junk Interiors
In other news, remember these reclaimed wood cow planters? I had them stashed away in my garage still in brand new condition because I had thoughts on trying to sell them. But oh it was hard! I find it difficult to part with ‘stuff’ so I finally went for it, listed them and… nothing. Taking down the listing, I put them on a bidding site instead and got nearly what I wanted for them! haha
All this to say, I’ve been told for YEARS to sell some creations I make. So this was the sign to keep trying. Ok then, I will!
Alrighty then! Let’s check out some really unique upcycled project features from last week’s party… then onto the new additions! Ohhhh, the ideas are SO unique this weekend…

Create a much easier macrame-look yarn wall hanging
DIY yarn wall hanging by Sadie Seasongoods
I remember a macrame wall hanging I made back in the day in art class. The intense knotting resulted in some pretty cool renderings! However here’s the same 2026 vibe with a fraction of the work, thanks to hanging yarn! My goodness, this yarn wall hanging is stunning. Choose your colours then go at it! Mix it up with string, twine, beads, whatever you wish! Get all the details in this post to make your own! I love this so much.
Hanging succulents on an old iron as garden art
Succulent planters hanging on an old iron by Birdz of a Feather
When I think of ‘old iron’, it isn’t something I’d normally turn into a display… until this! My goodness. Some faux succulent planters are literally hanging by the cutest beads on this iron as a unique garden display. Isn’t this so clever as an outdoor garden art display?!
Real flowers garden art with a frame and easel
Picture frame with easel garden art by Sonata At Home Design
Rather than just hang a hanging basket or place a plant pot outdoors, here’s a unique way to display those beautiful flowers using a picture frame and easel! LOVE the attention they give this area. It’s literally like a 3D rendition of garden art! Learn how to present your own flower ‘garden art’ in this post!
Upcycle bright soda cans into the cutest birds
Recycled soda can birds by A Crafty Mix
This is a sign to rummage through your recyclables for the most colourful soda cans you have, then get busy to make your own adorable recycled soda can birds to spruce up your indoors or out! Oh my WORD. These were not painted. And the birds are not complicated to make. There’s even patterns you can copy! Go seeeeee! These bird creations are so intriguing!
