Well, this girl is now the proud owner of two trucks… identical! Almost…

Facebook marketplace cars - how I found my Dodge Dakota truck!

My Facebook Marketplace truck story (and how to save a ton of money!)

Never did I ever think I’d land another Dodge Dakota in the same colour, with a canopy but in much better shape than my own. So instead of spending the money to fix mine up, I bought another one instead! LOL

Honestly, I’m still in shock. Today I pulled in the driveway after being out, and felt a need to apologize to my old truck for not taking it instead. I think I need a vacation…

So as I popped both hoods open to give them their bedtime snacks (oil and radiator fluid), and unpacking all my new car polishes and such, I now realize I need a vehicle shelf or 5 in my new empty workshop. My how our passions change in a heartbeat…

And am not quite sure what all the future plans of these two trucks hold! So until I figure that all out, I’m sharing my truck buying experience, loaded with super helpful and wise tips from my brother who came with me.

So if you’re playing around with the idea of a different vehicle but don’t want to spend a ton of money, this is the post written for you!

In other news… I’m now gutting my garage workshop so I can park the newer truck in it to hopefully save the paint this round. Wish me luck… I’m having to purge a ton of stuff! But I’m not giving up quite yet. Follow this story on my Instagram stories HERE under the Garage highlight while it’s still up.

While I still experience shock over my decision (which makes me laugh every day looking outside…), let’s enjoy some beautiful projects from last week’s party post…

  1. Thank you so much for featuring my cabinet door art. I have a garage full of more doors just waiting for a makeover!
Glad you found the truck you wanted. Car shopping is not fun! I ordered my last car online. They brought it to the house, I test drove it, & we signed the paperwork in the driveway. Even with that, it took longer than I’d like. But, hopefully, I won’t have to do it again for awhile.
    Have a great weekend!

  2. Congrats on your new vehicle; it was meant to be yours. But I think you just opened up a whole new can of worms with the workshop; I sense a future build coming on lol! Hope the inspection goes well.

Thanks so much for featuring our Hudson’s Bay point stripe inspired magazine rack!

  3. Thanks so much for featuring my vintage stool ideas and my winter tour, Donna! Ready to transition to Spring now, even thought we’ve got a winter storm coming:( Congrats on the new truck! But park in the garage? You’re going way out now! Have a good week!

  4. Two trucks?? That’s amazing! I drive and black truck too. Never thought I wanted one for my own and now I can’t live without it! Thanks for hosting the party!
