SNS 143 – Creative dressers

Saturday Nite Special link party via Funky Junk Interiors

Welcome to Saturday Nite Special, the multi themed DIY link party!

* Home Decor / Gardening

 * Crafts, / Sewing / Recipes / Printables / Blog tips

* Theme of the week

Every Fri 7pm  to Sunday 11 pm Pacific.

Creative dressers are not the norm. When you buy a dresser in a store, they’re generally styled in one colour with like minded drawers.

So what do you get when you cross an artist…

with a dresser? Pure magic!

Here’s a sampling of creative dressers that go a step WAY beyond just painting it out!

Miss Mustard Seed

We had to head this one off with the all time queen of dresser decorating. Miss Mustard Seed is well known for her two toned dresser makeovers and hand painted elements and with this number, she does not disappoint!

The Cozy Old Farmhouse

Gut or build a dresser frame to allow for soda crates instead of drawers?! Yes please!

Bliss Ranch

When a young boy needs a room makeover, it’s only fitting that his dresser gets decked out as well. The screen panels inside the drawers and all the added doo dads theme the dresser up in a very creative way!

Amanda Carol at Home

I adore this take on a subway styled dresser. The dusty blue with the off white lettering is a really nice switch from black and white!

Jilly and Mia

This dresser goes rustic with paint on the drawers and rope for the pulls. What a cool look in a very beautiful room!

Dear stores, I think we’re onto something… don’t you? 🙂

Do you have a dresser you’ve done more to than simply paint? Link it up in this weekend’s 3rd themed linkup!

  1. I’m back! I can’t believe how long it’s been since I’ve visited you! My husband knew who you were because I’d sit there on Friday nites, waiting til 7 p.m., telling him, I gotta get in the Top 10 on Donna’s party! He didn’t understand but, yet, it didn’t matter.

    I know, I know – everything I do or write nowadays has some reference to him. I’m trying to get past that. But obvs I’m not there yet. Anyhoo, so glad to be back! I searched and searched for a dresser but I’ve really only painted one and the post was more about the wall mural, not the dresser. Me & furniture? Well, we have a rather dysfunctional relationship. I stick with walls & canvas, thank you.

    Have a great weekend, Sweetie!

  2. I have seen most of those amazing dressers, but I have not seen the Cozy Farmhouse one!!! How cool is that one???!!! What I love is all the “crap” knockoffs that are showing up in Target, TJ Maxx and Home Goods looking like stuff pulled right from the blogosphere!! And yes, I have seen plenty of palletty looking junk, thank you very much Miss Donna, you ARE a trendsetter!

  3. Oh my goodness! I almost SQUEALED out loud (if my husband hadn’t been sitting right next to me studying I probably would have) when I came on here to link up a post and saw my picture of the soda crate dresser featured….ON YOUR BLOG!! Wowzers! That’s so awesome. Thank you!!!

  4. Awesome dressers, I’m gonna have to pin the ones I haven’t already pinned. Thank you for the feature on the Rock n Roll dresser. So excited it’s a dresser party this week, I hope I get my latest one done in time to link up.

  5. I love those dressers. Great party as always Donna. I am so happy I could join in. Thanks for hosting. Have sunshine in your weekend. I added a Vintage Egg Crate and Memories this week.

  6. Hi, Donna,
    I missed last weekend – my niece was visiting. but I am back this weekend. This is crazy, but missing just one Saturday Nite Special is like a hole in the universe. These dressers are awe-inspiring! The soda crate one wins the prize for originality!

  7. Wow Donna – what an amazing party – thanks so much – this looks like a lot of work – and it’s so appreciated!
    Big hugs,

  8. Great theme. I have an awesome dresser that I am trying to work up the nerve to start on, but I keep changing my mind about what I want to do. I am sure I will find some great inspiration here, and maybe someday soon….

  9. Good Morning! I finally took the plunge and started making my own Simple, Homemade butter (#105 in the recipe section). It was pretty easy to do and tastes fantastic. Have a good morning and thanks for hosting the party again!

  10. HI Donna…I linked up a post with pictures of the rest of my bedroom under Home Decor…but all of these fun dressers have got me thinking…I might be back, again 🙂 Thanks for hosting…and the amazing inspiration!! Laurel

  11. Dear Donna,
    Thanks for hosting, it’s always nice to come over to party at your place.

    This post reminds me I need to finish my re-do project with the awesome wardrobe/dresser I bought for 20 bucks a while back.

  12. Hi Donna!
    I just added my wallpapered dresser. There are some really beautiful links!! On another note, your finished rooms party really inspired me. I joined a while ago with my kitchen but for several days afterward I was bugged that I had declared it “done.” I KNEW it was missing something. So, tomorrow I am finally posting on my striped ceiling which took it from done to DONE. And I have you to thank because I joined your party and declared it done. It makes no sense because I know the whole point was for it to be finished but oh well – I was inspired, anyhow.

    Thanks!! 🙂

  13. Thanks so much for hosting, Donna! This is my first time linking up and I’m sad I didn’t find you sooner! Hope you had a great weekend! 🙂
