this weekend’s theme
~ bulletin boards ~
Once upon a time I entered a contest and the theme was old.
Most would have their eye on those pretty bedframes. But I went for the jugular of all things rust, and..
went for the rusty mattress spring instead. Oh my but how that rust is such a wonderful patina! We’re talking 100% wall to wall on this thing.
After scrubbing it down with a BBQ wire brush and coating it with a clear,
I fixed up an old outdoor wooden plant hanger stolen from my neighbor’s trailer bound for the dump (broad daylight, no shame) and…
made it into a mini bulletin board for…
a bigger bulletin board of course!
(full tutorial and reveal is HERE)
The mattress spring bb was so awesome, and I greatly miss it’s presence when it had to be moved. However I’m building a new place for it in my downstairs office. I meant to have a reveal ready for today but you know how it is when your book draft is due, right?
LOL. I crack me up.
So, stay tuned for that reveal coming… when I get it done. That’s truthful enough isn’t it?
Got a cool bulletin board creation to share of your own?
Link it up in this weekend’s 3rd themed linkup!
~ next up ~
slip covers and a voter’s poll for new themed ideas
Got any themes to suggest for the voting poll?
Include them in comments and I’ll add some to the new list!
Be sure to check the themed linkups master list to add your newest creations anytime. They’re always open. List HERE.
~ SNS blah blah linkup rules ~
1. Please link up your intended post, NOT your blog homepage url. (post, then click the title of your post, then cut and paste that url) If your post has been deleted, please try again.
2. Please put a link in your post (button or text) that leads back to the party so others can see what’s up. (see BUTTONS label under main blog header)
3. This party is geared for DIY type projects we can all attempt to make ourselves. Items for sale may be linked up IF your entry is posted on your blog and in tutorial style.
4. For Home Decor and Crafts, Sewing, Cooking, please link projects up that are new to SNS and/or within 1 month old. This helps keep content fresh.
The 3rd weekly themed link may have older posts and not brand new to SNS and will remain open for your new additions at any time. Click HERE for the main list.
If you can’t decide which category to enter yours in, please just pick ONE and go with it. It’s all good!
Lovely as always!
Well lookie here, I’m on time for a change! Okay, I don’t have a theme link up this week but I do have a home decor one.

Thanks for hosting and happy weekend.
You know, Donna, our styles are different. However, your “bulletin board” is one thing I’d love to copy whole-cloth, I just love it. I’d probably be a bit more conservative and use a crib spring. Hugs, girlfriend, continued success on your book, etc!
Yep – I linked up my screen door AGAIN!
I have a couple small garden trellises that I thought would be great with mini clothespins, too! I should get to work on those!
Donna, you just never cease to amaze me! I regret that I have been absent from all the fun for a while and am scratching my head as to what to link up this week. I might have to settle with visiting and making new friends! I’ll get back into the swing of things soon, I promise!

Thanks for hosting! I really like the themes each week. When I get stalled on what project to work on the theme of the week helps get me focused. Hope you’re enjoying your weekend.
