My pallet wood walkway in the garden has kept me busy today.
I’m starting to think that bloggers just shouldn’t have gardens. Actually, let me rephrase that…
maybe we should just blog about them more so they’re kept up.
Back in the day I had a real green thumb. I use to even work in a greenhouse. A few houses ago, my yard was lush with blooming flowers and the most amazing vegetable garden ever. But back in those days I had a lot more time on my hands. And that’s just what great gardens demand. Your time.
I just couldn’t walk by my beloved pallet boards one more time in this condition… so I started here.
I wasn’t worried though. That’s why I designed the path so simply.
Each board was completely remove and replaced. It worked like a charm!
And then I got on a roll.
I pulled out my beloved saddle blanket for my knees, (from my riding days) and started getting serious with those ferocious weeds.
That’s a light beam in the photo. Isn’t that strange and cool at the same time?
I really loved how this plant just took over and ran with it. I left it intact. Rambling plants work for me.
Sigh… I just love me some rustic wood!
And no post would be complete without a bit of junk, right?
The little pallet walkway has been a trooper. No rotting wood, and is as pretty as ever!
A little photography trick? Wet your soil and surfaces and your photos will look crisper and richer. Just don’t tell anyone my secret, deal?
My kitty cat’s drinking fountain even got a deep clean. All ready for you, Lion!
In case you noticed, she got a haircut from the vet. It was the best way to remove some matting.. hence her new nickname.
I’m cutting myself a deal this summer. Working on the garden a small section at a time will gitter done. Eventually.
As long as I keep blogging about it of course…
