Merry Christmas!

Oh my goodness… can you believe the big day is already here?

The season, as we know, is meant to be magical, bringing loved ones together. But for some, it’s a difficult time, reminding us of what or who we no longer have. I get it. I really, really do.

We’d all love the season to be perfection, but I think movies do that one best. Each of us carries a story of our own. But each of us also has a choice to make the season what they wish it to be or become. Regardless.

One small example. Through impossible obstacles, I gifted myself a trip to my fav place in the whole wide world. While the trip itself won’t make everything movie perfect, it certainly filled my holidays with so many things I love. Pretty hard to be miserable under those circumstances!

I’m not going to pretend it was easy. It wasn’t easy to plan this, and it wasn’t easy to enjoy it the moment my feet hit the sand. When things get too quiet, there’s great potential to dwell where you don’t want to.

But that is exactly why I came. I wanted to punch through the hard stuff, then work on the good stuff, in surroundings that were familiar and fun.

I’ll be writing more about what the gift of this trip did for me, as well as share some adventures. But my Christmas wish for you is this…

No matter who you are, or what you have, or don’t have, please give yourself permission (yes! permission!) to enjoy the kind of life you dream of. Despite imperfect circumstances. All you really have to do is say YES. Then get to work! Those of you that have accomplished something ‘big’ in your life know exactly what I mean. Breakthroughs don’t fall on your lap by chance, do they?

You can watch the final days of my island adventures through short video clips on Instagram stories as they transpire. Just watch for the rusty gear across the top!

Merry Christmas everyone! See you again after the holidays! The link party will once again resume January 6th, because I can’t imagine you making stuff during the holiday week… RIGHT? 🙂

So… here are some amazing features from last weekend’s link party… thanks again for stopping by and being part of the weekend fun!

The rolling pins STOLE my vintage lovin’ heart. But the entire kitchen corner screams happy holidays, don’t you think? That glass canister full of… whatever they are, makes me want to bake! And I don’t bake.

Anyone else for an industrial wreath? LOVING how the flutes give so much design, and how the pan just holds the decorations in place. Genius!
