Welcome to DIY Salvaged Junk Projects 444

Hello all!

This past week I started to focus on some stencil tutorials via video. A few behind the scenes filming showing tips and tricks are starting to compile on Instagram Stories HERE if you desire to peek!

Adding videos to some posts is sort of a new thing as well. I do love the outcome, however by golly it sure eats up time when you aren’t use to doing them! I’m slowly getting more efficient with them though! I’ve been adding videos to store listings to offer more of an overview so here’s hoping they are somewhat helpful. HERE is an example in-store.

I’ve also been busy with my pottery class! I didn’t want to go this past week because of some ‘wheel drama’ (spat goes the clay!) however I had a good run this past week working on mugs! YES! Anything for coffee I say. I’ll put together another post on it next week to update.

And I even made something amid all that filming and clay smashing…

Dear vintage mirror and dresser fans… feast your eyes on what to do with the part that generally breaks off! How I adore this look!

I miss this kind of decorating, I think I need to go search for some broken dressers.

It’s hard to believe how this super hip mirror with a heavy dash of vintage-vibe started out. I cannot believe how dramatic this paint treatment transformed it! Beautiful job and LOVE the numbers.

With map signs all the rage, this one stole my heart. I just love the weathered looking fabric scraps, wood and of course, a map to call home. Super sweet execution!

So THIS is what happens when a bunch of rusty junk take a dive into an orange can of paint under the focus of someone super creative… this detailing is wild! I’d love to try making one that’s totally all rusted over…

At first glance, I thought these were pretty silk leaves spun into an autumn wreath on a lovely window. But how wrong I was! They are SO much more, and you can make them too! Get out your paint, follow this tutorial and give it a whirl!

  1. Hi Donna – I didn’t have a project in my post this week so I am just ‘visiting’ – my Sister, bless her, shared her post (#1 on your party this week) so I will brag on her. She rebuilt/reconstructed a stinky old buffet and turned it into a bathroom sink cabinet (and built two drawers to replace the damaged ones – first try at that skill).

She also gave me a very vintage office tall magazine holder (my best guess of what it was used for) and I did post about that today.

    Your stencils are great!

    • Oh my GOODNESS! Your sis is basically a furniture surgeon with those revamps! I love her funky one so much too! I’ll ensure her beautiful work is featured next weekend! 🙂 Thanks for mentioning who it was!

  2. Thank you for featuring my HOME sign! I watched your video and you did a great job. I have a project in mind for one, but just can’t seem to actually do it. Thanks for the inspiration. Enjoy your weekend!

  3. Thank you for featuring my junky pumpkin! I’m so glad you liked it and I also thought one made with all rusty bits and pieces would be cool!

  4. Your fall stencils are so awesome, Donna! Fun to see them on actual projects. Thanks for featuring my mirror harp repurpose! If I can just complete all the projects I want to do for this room; so many ideas…
