Welcome to DIY Salvaged Junk Projects 444
Every Friday, 7 PM through Wednesday 11 PM Pacific
Hello all!
This past week I started to focus on some stencil tutorials via video. A few behind the scenes filming showing tips and tricks are starting to compile on Instagram Stories HERE if you desire to peek!
Adding videos to some posts is sort of a new thing as well. I do love the outcome, however by golly it sure eats up time when you aren’t use to doing them! I’m slowly getting more efficient with them though! I’ve been adding videos to store listings to offer more of an overview so here’s hoping they are somewhat helpful. HERE is an example in-store.
I’ve also been busy with my pottery class! I didn’t want to go this past week because of some ‘wheel drama’ (spat goes the clay!) however I had a good run this past week working on mugs! YES! Anything for coffee I say. I’ll put together another post on it next week to update.
And I even made something amid all that filming and clay smashing…
Stenciled directional fall signs by Funky Junk Interiors
The fall signs of my year-long dreams finally got out there, creating an apple cider station of sorts! This was a fun one! The blog post showcases some advanced stenciling tips creating a flecked drop shadow effect with video. Check it out if you’d like to add more dimension to your own stenciled work!
Stenciled fall Apple Cider crate shelf by Organized Clutter
Care to pack rustic, fall decor, and something delicious all in one fell swoop? This little crate shelf does exactly that! Genius. Full stencil details are inside this post.
Industrial toolbox storage cart by A Crafty Mix
Got a big ‘ol toolbox or trunk? Here’s how to turn it into an industrial trunk instead! How i love this look and the hidden wonders it can hide inside…
Gee… I have one of these. Maybe…
Mirror harp wall wreath by Lora B
Dear vintage mirror and dresser fans… feast your eyes on what to do with the part that generally breaks off! How I adore this look!
I miss this kind of decorating, I think I need to go search for some broken dressers.
Houndstooth revamped thrift store mirror frame by Organized Clutter
It’s hard to believe how this super hip mirror with a heavy dash of vintage-vibe started out. I cannot believe how dramatic this paint treatment transformed it! Beautiful job and LOVE the numbers.
Georgia Home assemblage sign by Artsy VaVa
With map signs all the rage, this one stole my heart. I just love the weathered looking fabric scraps, wood and of course, a map to call home. Super sweet execution!
Old hardware junk pumpkin by Little Vintage Cottage
So THIS is what happens when a bunch of rusty junk take a dive into an orange can of paint under the focus of someone super creative… this detailing is wild! I’d love to try making one that’s totally all rusted over…
Hand painted autumn leaves on a vintage window by Flower Patch Farmhouse
At first glance, I thought these were pretty silk leaves spun into an autumn wreath on a lovely window. But how wrong I was! They are SO much more, and you can make them too! Get out your paint, follow this tutorial and give it a whirl!
What have you made this past week? Link up below!
~ Blah blah linkup rules ~
1. Upcycled, DIY home decor projects only please. Items for sale must be in tutorial form on your blog. NO FOOD NOR NEW CRAFTS please.
2. Linkups must be your own work, not another’s.
3. Only projects new to this link party please, to keep things fresh. Repeats may be deleted.
4. By linking up here, you’re cool with me featuring you on my blog, Pinterest, Twitter, FJI Facebook with a link back to you, or its own new LINK WIDGET with no additional permission required.
5. No need to link back to the party! Would love it if you pinned the first gallery picture instead. Thank-you!
Thank you so much for featuring our bent and battered industrial trunk makeover Donna 😀
My pleasure Michelle, it’s AMAZING. I want to morph an old wooden trunk I have to make it look like that! Now to land those decadent wheels…
Hi Donna – I didn’t have a project in my post this week so I am just ‘visiting’ – my Sister, bless her, shared her post (#1 on your party this week) so I will brag on her. She rebuilt/reconstructed a stinky old buffet and turned it into a bathroom sink cabinet (and built two drawers to replace the damaged ones – first try at that skill).
She also gave me a very vintage office tall magazine holder (my best guess of what it was used for) and I did post about that today.
Your stencils are great!
Joy
Oh my GOODNESS! Your sis is basically a furniture surgeon with those revamps! I love her funky one so much too! I’ll ensure her beautiful work is featured next weekend! 🙂 Thanks for mentioning who it was!
Thank you for featuring my HOME sign! I watched your video and you did a great job. I have a project in mind for one, but just can’t seem to actually do it. Thanks for the inspiration. Enjoy your weekend!
Thank YOU Virginia! I adore your Home art sign so much! It has a really cool boho vibe to it! I think I need to be collecting some fabric scraps I love!
Thank you for featuring my junky pumpkin! I’m so glad you liked it and I also thought one made with all rusty bits and pieces would be cool!
Tania
I guess I’d better get busy and try it out! haha Thanks Tania for always bringing your treasures over!
Your fall stencils are so awesome, Donna! Fun to see them on actual projects. Thanks for featuring my mirror harp repurpose! If I can just complete all the projects I want to do for this room; so many ideas…
Thanks Lora! And I adore what you brought over last week! And generally more than one too… I bow down to you! haha
Thanks for the great party, Donna 🙂
Thanks Donna for the feature on my stencil projects! I am in love with your latest stencils! Can’t wait to try your shadow and spatter techniques!
Fabulous features – my Pinterest boards are happy! Hope you’re having a lovely Sunday, Donna 🙂
