Bad computers go bye bye in 2 weeks.

Dear not so dear computers,

I’m so done with you and your shoddy ways.

I don’t get you. You tease me by eating well and working out one moment, and then call in sick the next. With no doctor’s note.  NERVE!

Am I seeing double or did I have to try yet another new crappy monitor in order to patchwork quilt you again? And by the sounds of it, crappy monitor #2 isn’t cutting the mustard either now is it?

Ok, it’s not the monitor’s fault. You simply can’t blame a new car for driving bad. You’ve gotta blame the driver. Pretty monitor #2, I’m so sorry. I didn’t mean for this to happen. I will miss you but your lines are still a little fuzzy. I no longer wish to clean my glasses when they don’t need cleanin’, kwim?

Oopsee daisy… typo on the watermark. NOT.

You make me crazy. Your litter is strewn from one end of the house to the other. This isn’t happy clutter my friend. No. This is PLEASE WORK THIS TIME clutter. Bleah!!

Oh looky here. Is that another dead keyboard? Why, we have enough carnage to play a round of ‘Where’s Waldo’s Crappy Computer Components.” Wait. I could write that. In fact, I think I just did…

Look. Isn’t this sweet? This dead mouse even has it’s own graveyard.

So you know what I did? I crossed the line. I took a drive into the ‘other side of town.’

I feel like a good girl gone biker chick.

Remember THIS post? This is what the masses said. And do check out the comments. Only 76 to read. I sincerely thank-you for your feedback! You indeed helped me decide!

Well, maybe now I MIGHT read this article. Second thought, nahhh.

Let’s just hope Mr. iNag, the dude that disturbed me in the middle of my work day today nagging me yet again to BUY IT ALREADY, doesn’t leave town anytime soon. Because I may need his help OR flaunt just how good I am on it without training.Yeah. Bet it’ll be the latter.

In 2 weeks my new baby arrives! I might even call her… miMac. 🙂 Yes, it’s a girl!!

Honestly, it wouldn’t have mattered whether I called her PrettyPC or miMac. I just want a reliable sort and decided to venture where I’ve never gone before. Cuz I’m a little bit country, an’ a little bit rock n’ roll.

RIP black keyboard dudette. I’m trying on a ‘shabby white with a touch of galvanized’ experience this time around.

I must run! I have a new office nursery to build before the due date! Think palette wood, saw horses, ladders, add some white, stir in crate design, and bake alongside other fun junk. My kinda cookin’!

Do you have any amazing office inspiration links to share? Leave the url in comments if you do pretty please!

Wish me luck! gulp…

This is how I plan to feather my nest soon, so I’m sharing this post with

The Secret Cottage’s new link party, Feather Your Nest.

Good gracious.. these flowers would make any crap computer look good!

Go check out her shots!!

  1. Yay! You took the plunge. You won’t need anyone’s help with it. You’ll just love it. I’ve used a mac since 1990. I’ve used PC’s when I had to at a job a few years ago and hated every minute of it.

And you have not gone to the dark side…you’ve come out of the Dark Ages. The Force will now be with you. No more computer problems for you!

  2. YooHoo…give yourself a little time to adjust…you are going to LURVEEEE your new baby!!
I just bought my second Mac..first is desktop (love it) and now I have a laptop too..OMG I can use it . Loads of online tutorials to teach you everything you need to know. Do you lve near an official Apple store…great classes available there too 🙂

  3. I, too switched over about 6 months ago and I have never looked back! I’m so excited for you … you’ll love it! They just work 🙂

  4. You will not regret switching over. I was a big PC person until I married my husband and he is a big Mac person. Such a big mac person he works for apple which has been his dream since 4th grade. Not kidding. So my husband has converted me and I now love it.

  5. After you’ve had for a few weeks, I hope you’ll post about whether you love it or not. We may be purchasing a new computer at the end of the summer and are still undecided. Good luck!

  6. I can’t wait to see your new office! I don’t know how you will beat what you already have but I have confidence in you

Oh and thanks for the Swimoutlet.com guy that showed up at the bottom of your post in my reader. He was quite the enjoyable surprise as I was reading posts this morning! 😉

  7. LOL Anita, I’m assuming you’re talking about a google ad? Oh my gosh, some of them are wacky! Sorry if they offend anyone. Google picks up your subject matter and goes with it. No control here! I really have to watch what I put in the header and 1st paragraph! 🙂

I will indeed be reporting my findings about the new system when I’ve had a chance to try it out. Stay tuned!

    Donna

  8. Halarious post today, Donna! I’m sorry to hear that your computers are being disgruntle with you! I hope you all come to some sort of an understanding soon (lol)!!
I was hoping to see you at my first ever Feather Your Nest Link party today, but I guess your a little busy, huh? 😉
Good luck with all the computer gismos (they drive me crazy, too)!
    Hugs ~ Jo 🙂

  9. Wow! There’s a lot to put in the land fill there, Sweets! (I’m not on the green band wagon…just noting the size of the pile it will make!!!) Perhaps you could pile the components into your truck and take it to a pawn shop or some place like that??? Or sell the stuff to a PC fixer guy? My uncle is one, but he’s way down in Florida! He builds and rebuilds PC’s for folks. There must be some one in your neck of the woods!

Now onto the party!!!!! Woohhoo!! She did it Dan!!! Don’t rub anything in her face. Please be nice now!!! She’s a good lady!!!!! Help her nicely along (IF SHE EVEN NEEDS IT!! – cheeky) and smile and kick your heels up once you’re in the driveway out of sight!!!

Donna, you will NOT be unhappy about this decision.

Best of everything in getting “the room ready” and in transitioning and gulping!!! Can’t wait for those posts!!! LOL!!!!

  10. You are hilarious, I especially liked the dead mouses own little graveyard. It must have crawled in there and died when you weren’t looking.8D I am looking forward to seeing what your new office will look like with a tidy little Mac in it. I hear they are wonderful, one day we will know, hubby has said the next one will be a Mac, can’t wait.

  11. Welcome to the wonderful world of Mac! I have had mine for 2.5 years now and will never go back to a PC. My husband and I both bought new laptops in November 07, I went Mac, he went Dell PC. He has been infected by viruses twice, and his motherboard went bad twice. Sheesh! I did have my motherboard take a crap, but luckily I bought the 3 year protection plan and that took care of everything. I LOVE my mac, you will love yours too!

  12. Too funny! I feel your pain (on my Mac)… Can’t wait for the due date to arrive and here your thoughts as proud parent! BTW – I’ve had a complete post on bird houses and rusty shovels in my beds, as drafts, waiting to post on a rainy day… Took me years to get this Mac to load all the pics… And, of course, YOU beat me to it! ;-P Your pics are beautiful tho (as usual), must admit!

  13. Congrats on becoming a new Mac owner! We went Mac about 4 years ago, and have never looked back. Love, love, love all our Apple products.

At first, I was afraid of switching over, but it didn’t take long at all to catch on. The beauty – no pop-ups, no viruses, no slow page loads. You will not be disappointed!

  14. Man, you are the third person I have read today with computer problems,,,,,I sure hope it is not catching!!! I wouldn’t have a clue how to use a Mac. My son works for microsoft so you see where I am coming from. I love lap tops, also.

  15. HI Donna-
I got a new computer a few months ago after struggling thru with an old beast. I could not believe how quick and fast everything became. You will be able to do so many amazing things with it. The only downside was that my Adobe Creative Suite would not load on. Adobe told me I would have to buy a $400 upgrade to use it on the new computer. That was something I didn’t expect – software not being compatible.
Looking forward to hearing about your new Mac.
    Diane
