I had this old window I had wrapped with string awhile back to hold pictures. It was cute, but it was ready for something new.
Today, it’s looking right at home as a Christmas old window picture in the kitchen, holding some antique kitchen utensils!
And here is the rest of my little winter wonderland kitchen.
The windows were lightly misted with spray snow, then decked out. The snow really made all the difference and looks especially awesome at night.
The plate and clipboard are hiding lamp cords and switch plates.
The theme is silver, hydrangea gold with a tiny splash of red.
I love the combo, it’s different!
Doesn’t this ornament look like a soap bubble? Fake snow was sprinkled inside a clear Christmas ball.
Here’s a neat little unexpected touch. A broken Christmas ball was scattered here and there, adding a touch of glitter in a unique way. Naturally, this is safe where little ones don’t tread.
And this little mouse is busy at work holding things together. I won this cutie awhile back from Inspired by Charm!
The evergreen garland along the top of the windows were branches strung together with twine.
I’m not generally one for shiny bling with all my rusty junk, however to honour Christmas, I added just a touch.
The little cranberry wreath was made by stringing cranberries through a wire. Cute and fast.
I think it’s just enough without being too much with a bunch of stuff in your way. It makes me want to bake! And that’s a major thing around these parts.
Have you done anything special to your kitchen, or did you bypass it?
See you tomorrow for Day 4!
Cute! Very cute. You make me want to decorate my kitchen too, and that was just about the only area in my home that I was not planning to decorate. Thanks a bunch! ♥ Marianne
Love it Donna! It’s so cozy and cheerful.
And that bolted trim around your ceiling is so cool! Must’ve missed that post…I’ll try looking it up 🙂

Love it! Awesome job.
Thanks for posting it.
I haven’t decorated anything in my kitchen, but you are making me want to! I’m just curious how long the fresh cranberries will last. Will you have to replace them?
Hey Janice! The cranberries don’t last that long with the fresh look, but they also look kinda neat when they all get to the raisin stage. I’ve replaced them twice in an attempt to have them all fresh for the photos and still missed my target! 🙂
This looks beautiful. Brilliant idea! love your valance too!
Donna, your kitchen window looks so pretty. I love what you did.

I envy how much counter space you have in your kitchen. Not for cooking so much as decorating!! It looks awesome!
I love the snow in the ornament! Truly! What absolute fun. I just saw some of this at my home away from home….the dollar store and I am totally trying it!
Merry Christmas to you my wonderful friend!

Love it, Donna!
I love the old window vignette, Donna. Actually, I love it all. I haven’t done a thing to my kitchen. Thanks for the motivation.

Hi Donna, you are always so inspiring. Love the window idea. Thanks for sharing with all us out here in blogland.
And I have two more empty windows sitting in my kitchen waiting for something to do with them. A great idea for all year round too!
Absolutely beautiful ~ low key & lovely. Thank you for the inspiration!

Love the way you have styled your home out of things that cost you nothing. I to am a junker and GoodWill picker. I can not go into a regular retail store. My clothes, jewelry and just about everything I own comes from the curb or Goodwill. I especially love Sunday when they have tag sales and clothes only cost $1.29 per item. And books for very little. Just purchased The Poky Little Puppy to go with my dog statue and oil paintings. It cost just 5 books for a dollar. Again thank you for sharing and wishing you and yours a joyous holiday season.
