Fresh Coffee Buffalo Check TV tray
Just call me a TV tray fanatic at this point… because I can’t seem to keep my DIY efforts off of them!
But I think this design is my most fav to date!
I mean… it is coffee-themed after all…
This little tray started very blond and lacked a bunch of personality.
You may remember in its next life, it became this Homestead Blend Coffee tray with those cute black legs and a stained and stenciled top (awith an additional Christmas tray too!)
Anything coffee and woodsy and black is alright by me!
However…. it wasn’t to last… apparently.

Because once I got some new white Ikea Ektorp furniture, I wanted a fresh new companion for it all.
The TV tray top was sanded down, then stenciled in a large Buffalo Check pattern. Fresh and pretty!
So when I designed a new coffee-themed stencil, I wanted it to play somewhere fun and productive…
That’s when my eyes landed on the tray.
Forgive me tray, but I have new plans for you! While I didn’t reinvent the wheel, it certainly got greased… my fav kinda revamped revamp!
A Fresh Coffee revamped TV tray
My goal was to have the Buffalo Check blend moreso as a background, kinda how I did the Houndstooth tray makever HERE.
So I stained the entire top with Fusion’s Stain & Finishing Oil in Cappuccino.
I brushed on the stain, wiped off the excess with a cloth and ended up with a wood tone so much more deliciously rustic! SWOON!
But we aren’t done yet…

I then stenciled Fresh Coffee on top with Fusion’s Raw Silk. It’s a stunning soft warm white that really blended well yet popped against the black and woodsy pattern! YUM!

How to stencil:
Position your stencil with masking tape.
Load stencil brush with paint, then off-load most paint until the brush is dry to the touch.
Tap the stencil until the desired effect is achieved. I went over it twice for more opaque coverage.

And I absolutely ADORE this now Fresh Coffee Buffalo Check TV tray! And doubt I will EVER redo this tray again!
(rolling your eyes yet?)
I just want everything to look like this in this house right this second.
I am also really am digging that Fresh in a reverse stencil for something different… the design really pops!
And you know what step is next, right?
Cream and sugar in mine, please…
What do you think of the new look?
Fresh Coffee is a new stencil design, part of a Grain Sack series of more compact stencils that are designed to team up well with Grain Sack Stripes. Fun, right?!

Wow! I love that “coffee” table done both ways! I would be hard pressed to decide which I like better!
Oooh, I love the new Flour and Grain designs you came up with! What size is the actual design across and top to bottom? I’ve got a cool idea I may need to talk to you about…
