I love my coffee! So I came up with this little coffee pod storage with a crate and a basket. A fry basket that is.
And as all owners of pod coffee makers well know, you need coffee pod storage. I wasn’t too happy with the standard market fare, so I set out to devise my own. All it took was a little wooden crate and a deep fryer basket.
I actually got the basket idea from Miss Mustard Seed. She used one in her bathroom HERE. Who knew these would be such a desirable thing? 🙂
And here’s my new little setup!
It’s perfect! All I need is in this one little spot that barely takes any room. The pods are identifiable, and there’s a spot for the spoons and the sugar too. Oh right… the sugar is in the creamer.
This is the world’s best kept secret. A creamer like this really ought to hold sugar. I LOVE this piece. You never have to fiddle with the on / off lid thing and it’s got that industrial bling I love so much.
Add a little potted flower, and it’s as cute and functional as ever.
If the pictures look a little funky today, please excuse my earning curve. I’m practicing shooting in r. a. w. mode (spelled weird because it was bringing weird traffic to the blog) and using a trial version of Lightroom and I have no idea what I’m doing. Yet. 🙂 (r. a. w. offers better quality, maintains photo quality forever and you don’t have to worry about white balance issues)
VERY cool program though. It came highly recommended from a few photographer friends (it’s easier than Photoshop but part of the family) and I highly recommend you download the trial and give it a whirl.
What creative ways have you come up with to store coffee pods?
I’m not into coffee pods (i’d rather grind my own beans) but i love your storage! so you and very funky. those deep fryer baskets are great. who would have thought! (well of course you and Miss Mustard Seed!)
have a good week
cheers Fiona
Your set up is adorable. I keep my K-cups in a vintage Tom’s Peanuts jar. Goes perfectly with my vintage style kitchen and the glass jar allows me to see what ones I have in there. Cute and functional, just the way I like it.
OK, Donna…that basket is so cool! I keep my little Kcups in a small colander nest to my machine…and my teaspoons in a ball jar next to that…but I like your mug…and guess what??? We drink the same coffee! Yay, us!
Donna I love it!! Wayyyy cute! You are doing great on your photos ~ My son in law who is a photographer shoots everything raw and I am not sure what he uses to edit but there is a big difference than just the “regular” way 🙂
Great ideas! I keep my K-cups in a vintage (heavy, white glass) Hamilton Beach mixing bowl….it belonged to my grandma. It’s just the right size to sit next to my Keurig. I didn’t care for the racks on the market either!
Right now I use a glass jar…a large one! I need to funk it up a bit though. I have my thinking cap on. Love your set up but not big enough for what I need. I will let you know
Hugs

Looks so cute and useful. You had me from the caption, okay! what is she going to do with this. Love it! So perfect for the coffee pot area. Come and see me if you get a chance I am new to the blog world would love your visit. I will have the coffee pot on.

I love your coffee storage area! Wooden crates and vintage baskets are two of my favorite things and I love the way they look together.
One of the reasons I haven’t switched over to the pods is the storage issue – you seem to have solved that in another ingenious way. Looks awesome, Donna.
I used a tall clear glass and was going to chalk paint a label, then I bought a Kuerig storage container that works great but eh, doesn’t look that great. It seems I either have tons of pods stored there and in the pantry or I am almost out! I like your display for me it seems I need a nice looking more stylized one and a practical storage for more maybe tucked away in the pantry
I LOVE this! I’m going to have to try something like this in our next house – we’re moving next month. Yay!
This is so darn cute! I can’t believe that cool basket is from a deep fryer!! I am now going look at that aisle in the thrift store with a whole new eye. Now all I have to do is learn to drink coffee. 🙂
Ha! when I read the title to your post… I first thought you were talking about ME! Then I thought…You had a TYPO in the title.
I think I may be the one of a handful of people on the whole planet …that didn’t know what a ‘coffee-POD’ was until today!
See… I learn so much by reading your blog.
Not to mention the DECOR TIP of using a deep fryer basket for storage?!?! STOP THE PRESSES!!!! Another DUH-MOMENT. How many of those things have I past up at Bargain-land?
Seriously, Pat
Fry baskets! Who knew, right? 🙂
Beautiful! I love this! I’ve got K-cups everywhere- time to organize! Thanks for the idea!

I have that same deep fryer basket and have kept the storage idea from MMS in the back of my mind since reading her post about it. I ended up using a different wire basket in my own bathroom. It’s a cross between her idea and YOURS with the crate and metal license plates. Nothing spectacular, but then again, neither is a fry basket, until it’s in the right element – like a coffee pod holder!! Definitely cute, along with all the other bits you’ve put together for your coffee station. I gave up coffee (for the most part, except my occasional Starbuck indulge) so I’m still trying to find the right thing(s) for my fry basket.
So cute love your lil coffee station been seeing everyone making them so now I am going to have to fluff up my coffee spot
I’m still in the grinding mode. Nothing beats that smell in the morning, but my oldest DD is now enjoying the pods and I have dabbled in a few pod pleasures while visiting her. I will be sharing this idea with her. She keeps hers in a drawer, while functional, it’s not too fun or funky 🙂
I love the crate and the basket in fact I’m slightly coveting them right now. *sigh* Guess it’s time to get out to those flea markets so I can snag my own.
Oh My! Way to make the coffee pot space look like art… I love it… one more thing for me to “want” for my new kitchen… thank you sooooo much!!
oh my I now own 4 coffee pots geez actually 5 I think but not a pod one yet. I got a small fryer basket at thrift store for a $1.00 awhile back tho so guess I am ready for no 6 ha ha. Did want to see if you had tried ‘Newman’s Own’ I buy it for work, for home I also got a keurig frother 😉
