DIY Salvaged Junk Projects 351
Every Friday, 7 PM through Sunday 11 PM Pacific
Welcome, and a happy fall junk weekend to you!
I couldn’t help myself. It’s so pretty out right now, when I had to ride by bike in order to pick up my truck being serviced, the camera HAD to come out. Isn’t this time of year outstanding? Here’s a little tour of my ‘creative bike route’... with potential to run into trains and bears.
This past week I have also been painting the boy’s bedroom (will update soon!) and invented a few new junk storage ideas. My fav is storing paint in a coke crate!
So swinging back to you, here’s what you did last weekend…
Farmhouse style spindle headboard coat rack for a front entry, by Knick of Time
I love Angie’s style anyway. I mean… when you adore every square inch of what you see, it’s hard not to fall hard.
But the ingenious way this spindle headboard was utilized? I can think of so many places to do this. Bathroom, bedroom… it’s just compact enough to squeeze it in anywhere you wish.
Striking black and white LAUNDRY sign on a repurpose existing sign, by Organized Clutter
I love Carlene’s cheater build ways. She flipped over an old sign she had, to create a fresh, new look for her Laundry room. Isn’t this black on white so striking?
While this sign is currently holding a little crate filled with handy clothespins, it could be used in so many additional helpful ways! Perhaps a backdrop for a shelf? (I’m’ visioning black plant hanger side supports) Add hooks for hangers, or string and clothespins to catch the odd sock?
Stencil is part of my collection, in which the blog post shares all.
Farmhouse styled ladder and pitchfork wall decor, by Knick of Time
If you ever come across a broken ladder, Angie proves here it is not trash, but well loved wall decor!
In fact, why not take a step ladder apart, to create more than one room feature? Hmm…. yes!
How to marry vintage bottles with antique labels, by Adirondack Girl at Heart
If you are a bottle collector, you may wish to try this one. Adding vintage styled labels really ramps a plain bottle up, and can further their story.
During your next antique hunt, try looking for affordable old antique labels, like Diana did. Or do a google search on ‘antique label reproductions’ to see if you can find some to print.
These are so gorgeous and colourful! I know what I’m going to do on my next junk shopping trip.
How to revamp a termite infested trunk, by Scavenger Chic
Ever want a piece that you LOVE, but feel a need to bypass it because it’s too far gone, or old and smelly inside to actually be useful for storage?
Joan solves that issue in this post. This trunk has been revamped inside, so not only can you enjoy the authentic outside, you will want to use the new inside.
Genius! I have some fixing to do myself.
Upcycled rolling pin and spoon garden junk wind chime, by Thrifty Rebel Vintage
Anyone else feel a need to want to hang this charming wind chime outdoors just so you can hear the spoons tinkle?
And Tuula has given us a new reason to collect spoons! And clothespins.
Upcycled rusty tin can table top, by Upcycled Design Lab
Dear rustaholics, this idea will CRUSH you.
You MUST see how Cindy got new lids to look like this… her method pleasantly shocked me.
Start collecting those tin can toppers, because this table topper is crazy cool!
Thrift store framed hand painted Halloween sign, by Wisconsin Magpie
This thrift store frame became one gorgeously striking Halloween sign. Lisa had lots of patience on this one, but what a cool, subway styled outcome!
Reclaimed wood illuminated Halloween skull decor, by Bliss on a Budget
Just when I felt I’ve seen everything reclaimed wood could ever become, Caroline proved me wrong.
Oh my goodness… oh my goodness. This is over the top unique!
Rusty junk storage ideas, with a new paint station, by Funky Junk Interiors
Even I played this past week, throwing together a few new junk storage ideas. The clear win is the crate filled paint testers! This post also showcases some past ideas too.
So, what did you make or do this past week? Link up below!

You outdid yourself this week my friend, I am totally in love with that paint storage! So glad I could link up this week!
Thanks Donna for PJ 351, appreciated. Enjoyed seeing your bike trip back from the garage, a few days with sunshine instead of rain makes the fall scenery a treat. We drove up the Fraser Canyon to enjoy the fall colours.
