DIY Salvaged Junk Projects 367
Every Friday, 7 PM through Sunday 11 PM Pacific
Welcome, junkers!
Is spring fever striving to enter your lives yet? With the sun finally making an appearance on the west coast, I was inspired to accomplish two firsts of the year… outdoors!
The season’s first bike ride adventure felt SO GOOD! And I was so inspired by the colourless palette out there, which happen to BE my colours. 🙂 Pretty outdoor trail tour inside this post.
Add a garden book landing in my lap, this year’s first garden project transpired, in the form of an oversized tulip crate! My place has never looked so good in February…
And now it’s suppose to snow again. Nooooooo…..
Oh well. At least I can be encouraged to DIY indoors, thanks to YOUR inspiration!
I also have a super cool giveaway going on the blog right now. Enter for a chance to win Startle Garden, a beautiful new garden book that gets you back to basics HERE!
Here are some super cool features from last week’s party…
Drywall enhanced Route 66 sign with rake hanger, by A Vintage Green
Drywall filler is used to create authentic looking texture for an irresistible, weathered sign look! I also am completely smitten with the white on black, AND mounting this art piece by placing it on a rake. All wins in my book! Route 66 stencil info is in this post.
Now I want to make a black stained sign!
Up-cycled shutter rolling serving cart, by Scavenger Chic
This project will hit any junker right in the heart. It’s all here. Authentic chippy goodness, a true repurpose, metal touches, and above all else, productivity. I want this thing in my life!
And then there’s casters. Anything is just better on wheels, don’t you think?
Kitchen utensil cooking sign and holder, by Organized Clutter
I’ve always said it’s all in the details, and this sweet kitchen utensil turned sign holder does just that! This post shows two different signs, both equally adorable. Stencil info is inside the post.
Repurposed door coat hook hanger with old sign, by Rustic Rediscovered
Think this lucky re-purposer landed a great old headboard? You thought wrong! This one is made from an old door… gorgeous!
Vintage striped paint stick tulip tray, by Homeroad
With tulip crates / trays all the rage, Susan creates an easy and beautiful way to recreate the look using paint sticks!
I also am completely smitten with the white and green. Doesn’t this just scream spring tulips? Stripes were made with a stencil, all info inside the post.
Baking pan indoor hanging herb garden, by Grillo Designs
Cake pans all over are destined to become wall hanging herb gardens, after this clever project! Being able to view the layers of soil is an additional way to get those gorgeous natural elements indoors.
Moss covered wooden spool outdoor garden table, by Karin Urban – Natural Style
This whimsical garden junk project just goes to prove, layering works! A combo of a table base, wooden spool and natural moss make one cool focal point!
Oversized outdoor flower bed tulip crate, by Funky Junk Interiors
Inspired by the Startle Garden book, this oversized tulip crate ‘SPRING’ garden became an instant raised bed, using a little bit of scrap wood. And springs. 🙂 Stencil info is also included in the post.
Painted Hudson’s Bay striped canister and dishes, by Sadie Seasongoods
This iconic paint treatment showcases how any thrift store cast off can become an instant, hot decor item! Oh my goodness…
What did you make this past week? Link up below!
~ Blah blah linkup rules ~
1. Upcycled, DIY home decor projects only please. Items for sale must be in tutorial form on your blog.
2. Linkups must be your own work, not another’s.
3. Only projects new to this link party please. The themed linkup (if applicable) is an exception.
4. By linking up here, you’re cool with me featuring you on my blog, Pinterest, Twitter, FJI Facebook and I Love That Junk with a link back to you, or its own new LINK WIDGET with no additional permission required.
5. No need to link back! Pinning the first image would be very appreciated. Thank you! 🙂
My junk this week is more of a pile of great salvaged stuff that will eventually be mixed with other great junk to make something different.
Thanks Donna for including my sign in with the features this week, always a nice surprise to see something I made appear while scrolling through a post.
We got some of that snow last night but it was more like a thick cold white layer of almost slush to be scraped off the car before DGS got his ride to school rather than the shovel the sidewalk before it gets walked on and turns to ice.
Always look forward to your DIY Salvaged 367th Junk Projects posts. Hope the beginning of another junk project was ok to add this week.
Joy
Thank you so much go the feature. Your garden is looking gorgeous and I love the moss branch! Fingers crossed Spring is just around the corner!
Love that you featured the vertical baking pan garden! So it CAN be done – I’m going to make one this week! So much inspiration in one post – thank you!

Hi Donna, it’s been forever ago since I partied with you all and I’m looking forward to joining you consistently from here on in. Looks like Spring has sprung in the lower mainland – I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t jealous!
Thanks for the party, Donna!
