Happy summer!

This past week we’ve had quite the little heat wave in our area. As luck would have it, I have a downstairs computer which has proven to be the place to hang by day. So I put my time to good use and have been dreaming up new stencil designs for all season, fall and Christmas. It feels good to be productive again! Any design requests?

I also blogged HERE about how I felt builder-grade beige once I returned home. I wasn’t happy nor sad and started to wonder what was wrong with me! Until a quote set me straight… If you’re feeling a little confused or defeated with life, this read may help encourage you to take one more step forward…

If you’re also hiding away from the heat, here’s a few fun projects to consider making (in the comforts of your air conditioned quarters) from last weekend’s party

This stunning makeover makes me want to start collecting dressers just for an excuse to stencil the front drawers! Adore this piece and the tones used so much. This tutorial explains a white-wash technique.

  1. Hi Donna – thank you for sharing your thoughts as you work through life ‘stuff’. Appreciated. My week is a ‘stuff happens’ week.
    Hugs.
    Joy

  2. Hi Donna,

I love the metal piece in front of the fireplace. I saw something similar in an antique store and thought of using it as an awning over my door. It actually was the right size and price but to convince the hubby, another story.

I bought a thick antique cutting board to put the hose clamp and mason jar on. Another project.

Painting the concrete pavers in the patio would be awesome. Pavers are in place and odd shapes.

Enjoyed your number 438 party post. Thank you Donna.

    P.S.
Also, if you ever want to come to Cali and visit Monterey and Carmel let me know. Of course the beach house in Santa Cruz. I am about 20 minutes from Monterey.
