Welcome to DIY Salvaged Junk Projects 454
Every Friday, 7 PM through Wednesday 11 PM Pacific
Merry Christmas!
I know… a little early for the real deal greeting, but if you’ve been around these parts in the past week, you’ll already know it’s been a little like Santa’s Workshop lately!
3 projects in one week… with more on the way! It sure feels good to get in that workshop again.
According to my Instagram post, the scrap wood snowmen won by a landslide! How can something so simple be so well received? I’m just grateful. The outcome truly gave me a massive boost to keep on keepin’ on!
I’ll post my other two projects in the linkup below. My personal favs are the little Christmas trees with junk bases…
So what brought all this on suddenly? Kim Klassen’s Write|21 course challenged us to focus on one thing over the next 21 days. And simple… I chose to blog more. And what better way than to bring on Christmas!
The challenge has totally made me aware of why I’ve been falling a little short lately. Getting sidetracked and without a strong focus did not help. Here’s hoping after 21 days this DIY thing will all be old hat once again… so look out…
And goodness… you guys really outdid yourselves at the last party. Check out these beautiful features…
Winter or Christmas Buffalo Check sleigh porch decor by Homeroad
Dear Susan, you can sleigh ride this beauty all the way to my front porch please! This gorgeousness is all kinds of perfect with this stunning buffalo checked rendition!
Full tutorial and stencil details are in this post.
Bottle brush tree snow globe ornaments by Homeroad
Nothing spells winter more than fresh fallen snow in a forest, so these bottle brush snow globe ornaments certainly do it for me! Love how these can be used well into the winter months without feeling out of season. Post shows you how.
Christmas Buffalo Checked hot cocoa tray by Organized Clutter
This year’s hottest look – white prints on Buffalo Check – check! I love Carlene’s trick on getting the buffalo check plaid to look so deep and rich… it’s all in the colour order. Post has full tutorial and stencil details.
Winter wood slice button wreath by Nikinamama
She had me at branches… but made into this charming wreath complete with fabric thread, I’m all over it! Darling.
Christmas junk angle from a wire shelf by The Interior Frugalista
You will never look at a shelf this shape quite the same way ever again. Isn’t this a perfect mix of whatevers?! Some of the supplies surprised me! Post shares how to do it.
Spindle Christmas tree ornaments by Sadie Seasongoods
No chair was harmed in the making of these super clever and beautiful ornaments. Go see what they use to be! I”d bet you see one in every run to the thrift store…
Festive holiday hostess gift and tray by The Interior Frugalista
This once plain wood basket sure got a LOT more festive with a few stencils and a beautiful vibrant shade of red! And such a clever use… visit the post to see how perfectly this project was themed… stencil details in the post.
Gingerbread Playdough by Annies Home
Seriously. I want to make this just to smell it! Playing with it would be like icing on an already epic cake! Great recipe in the post.
Aqua winter and hot cocoa cutting board by A Vintage Green
Doesn’t this cute cutting board have a vintage vibe in this tone? All that’s missing is a nice hot cup of cocoa served on it! I love using cutting boards as oversized coasters.

Donna, your scrap wood snowmen are ADORABLE! Love your features this week – so much inspiration her❣️ Sarah’s spindle ornaments inspired me to do something with my bucket of old spindles. I am so grateful to have been included among them and honored to have been twice. Thank you 🙂 xo
