Welcome to DIY Salvaged Junk Projects 458

Every Friday, 7 PM through Wednesday 11 PM Pacific

Helloooooo everyone! I am hopeful you had a wonderful Christmas and are still enjoying the downtime of the holidays!

I certainly am! I JUST posted my home tour on Christmas Eve (thank goodness for a deadline, huh?) so I am in no rush to undecorate until the new year.

I spent Christmas day on my bike and saw my son, have been watching Harry Potter marathons under all the twinkling lights, going for long bike rides when the weather cooperates, and JUST today I got the bug to get up and do something productive.

I’m also getting the itch for either a quick getaway as a nice new year reset, or hunker down and start some renos on the house… or a reno on me. Talk about confusion here…

I’m debating on joining a special gym program for just over a month that offers eating and workout coaching as well… the full deal! I’m sorda hoping to catch the bug on how to do it right then proceed on my own a little more local to me, so we’ll see how that goes… I’d love nothing more than to get stronger and lose a good solid 30 lbs (eep) in the longer term process. This effort is long overdue. As of today, I’ve already ditched the carbs and sugar. I’m on my way!

Anyway, it’s been a treat to let it all go for a few days. Have you done the same? How was your Christmas and the wonderfully weird in-between Christmas and New Years downtime? What yearnings are you having right about now?

Being that this will likely be the last time we are enjoying all the Christmas rah rah in the party posts, if you haven’t yet shared your Christmas home tours, I hope you do this weekend!

As a special edition, I’ve also included a ‘best projects of 2018″ linkup so you are welcome to share an individual fav or two or a roundup in that one as well. And don’t worry if you haven’t gotten that post together yet… I’ll share the same linkup again next weekend as well!

Ok, let’s do this! Here’s the highlights from last week’s party…

  1. Your home tour was amazing, Donna. I thoroughly enjoyed every special touch.

You’re right this is a weird in-between time. I’ve been taking full advantage and am cleaning/organizing my work room like crazy. I can already walk through it more easily and have a couple of spaces cleared away where I can work on some projects–woo woo!

Thanks so much for featuring my tray this week; it’s a favorite project of mine 🙂 Happy New Year!!

  2. Thank you so much for featuring my snow globes! They were a lot of fun to make, not to mention inexpensive! I’m glad you had a nice Christmas. I did too, and am now in that weird time where I’m not sure what day it is.

  3. Happy New Year Donna. I actually cut out the sugar and carbs a few months ago because I was diagnosed with diabetes. It was actually the best thing that happened to me because it made me realize I had to start taking my health seriously. I am doing great and have lost 15 lbs. without even trying. Although I have to confess, it is hard during the holidays and I’ve fallen off the wagon a bit! Wishing you lots of success on your health journey. And having to be accountable to your doctor or your team really helps a lot.

  4. Happy New Year, Donna! Thanks for featuring my little globes kitchen tour. I never actually got to the overall Christmas tour this year…oh, well:( Some years are just more screwy than others! On to fresh inspiration for 2019!

    • Honestly Lora, this post is my kinda tour just as-is! Love your staging infused with vintage charm. It was beautiful! I’ve really down played my tours… used to be full home now it’s down to just the kitchen and living room. I nearly didn’t bother with the kitchen! Are we getting simpler as time moves on?!
