Welcome to DIY Salvaged Junk Projects 520
Every Friday, 7 PM through Wednesday 11 PM Pacific
Happy weekend all!
So… I decided to give myself a little grace and took a week off from blogging because the words just weren’t coming. I cleaned a few things and went grocery shopping. It’s just… I don’t know. My head was full and there wasn’t room for much else. Can you relate?
But just know? The past 2 parties have had 4x the amount of traffic they normally get, from both post visits AND linkup visits!
So whatever you’re doing, keep doing it, my creative friends! You’re providing an invaluable service for those at home right now (and me!) who really need your inspiration.
Here’s to another great week… and a few more amazing projects to be inspired by from last week’s party…
This week’s features:
Translucent dragonflies by A Crafty Mix
Doesn’t this look real? But it isn’t! Everything aside from the rusty nail is crafted! This post shares a few other butterfies as well. Truly spectacular tutorial and a must-visit!

If this adorable bike-themed message centre doesn’t inspire you to hop on your bike and head out for a few local groceries, I don’t know what would. What a cutie! Click the link for the tutorial and stencil details.

This junk-inspired dresser SOOOO inspires me… I want my entire kitchen to look like this please! What a great piece!!! Check it out on Kim’s FB page at the link!

3 plain canvases didn’t turn into oil paintings… they turned into amazing farmhouse wall art pieces instead! Loving the wooden frames! Click the post for all the details, including stencil links.

Here’s what you can do with the covers they come in! Aren’t these bookmarks gorgeous? Click the link to read how.

Awwww Donna, thank you so much for sharing our dragonfly. My Mom and I had so much fun with them. She was hesitant at first to try to make one because she lost all faith in her crafting abilities after her stroke. Isn’t crafting and creating things just so amazing? I do hope that you’re okay, in your heart and head and body. These crazy times are a huge wake-up call to all of us. Stay safe
SO glad you liked my little bookmarks, Donna–I appreciate the feature and am glad I could provides some distraction and inspiration. We’re all dealing with the crisis in different ways at different times. I can definitely relate to the head-to-full feeling, but I’m just plugging a way…
Hello Donna, I hope everything is fine with you. Here in Holland and the rest of the world, we are in a very trieste situation. But we will have faith. What is worth and our blog. Xoxo
Thanks Donna for featuring my framed stencil pictures!
Donna thanks for the feature 🙂
What a great line up. The dragon fly and typewriter! Love!
Creativity and beauty definitely help keep the spirits up, Donna, and are a good distraction from the news! Think many are enjoying their extra time and getting to be a little more creative. Better time than any for us bloggers to just. keep. swimming! Thanks for hosting and giving us a place to share!
So many brilliant ideas featured this week! I love Angie’s charging station idea and would love one for my home office. My creative mojo has been pretty much non-existent until recently when I realized it was a great way to calm anxiety and keep my mind from going to the what-ifs. Stay safe and have a nice weekend, Donna!
I appreciate the feature, Donna! Stay safe.
Donna, Reading through your comments I hope you realize how important your blog, your positive thoughts, and creative inspiration are to those who are isolated at home. Just think of the impact that you have on those who are silent and do not comment, and maybe don’t even think of themselves as creative — but just enjoy your blog for the eye candy. We need your voice of encouragement during this time. You (we) are stronger than we know, we just need to be reminded of it sometimes. You have such an important role.
I am so enjoying your sight You have beautify ideas. Very talented !!! Thanks for sharing !!!
