Happy weekend!

And boy, do these weekend party posts keep me honest. I think I’ve done so much in a week yet nothing I did made it to the blog.

Well, I guess I know why. Sometimes it takes time for the build-up. For example, we’ve been waiting for an inflatable hot tub to arrive, but have been busy planning how to set it up. So now that it’s been pushed through my front door, it’s time to get busy!

We’ve had some very hot weather this past week as well, so luckily our two window air conditioners rescued us once again. I ordered a few quotes for central air but no one called back. So I guess we’ll wait that one out until it’s off season. Like we have a choice…

In other happy news, the garden shed flowers and this year’s ferns (see how I saved last year’s ferns HERE) are thriving! So it won’t be long before I can post updates on the gardening progress!

I’m also flip flopping between vacation mode and work mode. Can you relate? If it’s hot and sunny, shouldn’t we be somewhere else other than home? But I honestly don’t think we will go anywhere this year, hence the hot tub purchase. Hopefully that will help feel like we are on vacation a little!

So now that we’re kinda all caught up, let’s check out these fab upcycled project features from last week’s post:

  1. i’m with you, Donna… a vacation SOUNDS lovely, but i’m pretty much sticking to being home and taking day-trips only right now. how lucky you are to have such a beautiful yard to relax in! (only i know you don’t, you sit there looking around thinking ‘well THAT area needs attention… and oh! i could do something over THERE, too….’ LOL!!!) enjoy your weekend!

thank you so much for including my beach hat light cover project in your feature! i’ve been looking at that stupid light for several years now, hating it, and trying to figure out just how to fix it up on a budget… that hat was a spur-of-the-moment solution, and i LOVE it! hope your readers do, as well.

  2. Love the up cycled garden chair! (I have more than a few old chairs hiding out in my basement 😉 That stinks that the a/c places won’t call you back. Keep a list of which ones wouldn’t return your calls & don’t give them your business. I feel that if they can’t take the time to return a call, that’s an indication of the quality of their work & service too.

    Enjoy your hot tub!

  3. Hi Donna,
I have been busy and missing you and most parties.
Thank you so much for sharing my chair planter.
It was a project that I happened without much thinking and I’m happy with how it turned out-
We are now about 20 days from our son’s wedding!
A short engagement with lots to do- then relax and enjoy summer. I love my soon to be daughter-in-love. What a blessing!
    xo Lisa S

  4. THANK YOU, Donna, for featuring my Dollar Tree Flip Flop Welcome Sign! Have a wonderful week! Creatively, Beth
