Howdy all!
It’s stencil design time in my neck of the woods, so I basically disappear online until I get them up and running… along with some new projects made with them of course! So stay tuned… more to come soon!
I’m also trying to decide what to work on in the yard. Our hot weather has me pausing lots of projects, so hopefully I can figure out a solution around that soon because we have another month of summer to go!
Whew… it’s been a warm one. And my tolerance to play in high heat is quickly diminishing. Is it age? Or is it because I’ve conditioned myself to be inside with an air conditioner?! I think it’s the latter but it sure is nice to feel ‘normal’! How do you deal with higher heat?
Once again, thank goodness for these amazing upcycled features from last week’s party – hopefully I will join you next week too!

Wood horse figurines with raised rust stencil details
Scrap wood nuzzling horse figurines by A Crafty Mix
This stunning horse figurine project not only celebrates my all time favorite reclaimed wood, it’s also got some rusty junk secrets too! Hint… look at the horse legs… and also learn what rust dust is! Oh goodness… this is a must-read.
Vintage croquet wall art
Upcycled croquet wall art by Lora Bloomquist
If you love the vibe of a vintage croquet game, you’ll adore this project! Not only is this art piece made with a croquet set amazing, this post also showcases what else you can make with them! Doesn’t this blow you away though?
Gorgeous decoupaged sea shell craft
Decoupaged sea shells by Seasons Blog
Summer is seashell hunting time, so if you come across these types of shells, here’s what you can do to pretty them up! Wow… these decoupaged shells are not only stunning, they can be useful too! Would you use them to hold things or just display them as a group?
Upcycled soda can wall art
Soda can wall art by Birdz of a Feather
Indeed collect those used soda cans, but before you turn them in for your deposit back, rethink making a gorgeous art piece with them instead! I kid you not… While this stunning wall art showcases dot shapes, the sky’s the limit with this idea. Choose your shape, then go at it!

Thank you for featuring my shells. Have a good weekend and see you soon ☻ Elsa
Thanks for sharing your beautiful shell decoupage idea, Elsa! They are so gorgeous, and it really gave them an upscale look!
Thanks so much for featuring our soda can Mondrian-inspired art Donna! Looking forward to your new designs!
Such a cool art piece, Sarah! Thanks for sharing it with us here!
A Crafty Mix has done it again. She is so creative. I love everything she does. I wish I had a place to saw such wooden figures as these delightful horses! I also like the seashells decoupaged in the earth-colored napkins from Seasons.
Agree!! Those horses are adorable and so unique! And the shells sure look upscale now!
What unique art features this week! Thanks for including my upcycled croquet art:) And hope the creative stenciling ideas kick in, despite the heat. Yes, it does sap the energy. We’ve had a lovely cool, but very wet summer & I’m not complaining a bit:)
Your croquet art is so cool, Lora! Thanks for sharing it with us here! And yeah… cooler summers are actually good if the sun still comes out! The west coast tends to stay cloudy-grey when it’s cool and blaze when it’s sunny so the ‘middle-of-the-road’ button tends to be faulty at times. haha
Wow! These are all amazing!
Those horses though, and the croque set art. Oh my gosh. So fun!
I think its age to blame for not tolerating heat. Mind you, I was never good with it, but I am way worse with it now! And I have my elderly mother staying with me now in my tiny apartment, and she doesn’t like air conditioning. Suffice it to say, I am HOT.
You’re probably right Zefi! Although I’ve never minded being too hot while on vacation when you have the ocean or a pool nearby! But being productive at home and sweating? I’m over that now. LOL
