Greetings all!
This past week, I landed a couple of amazing yard features that I cannot WAIT to see this summer…
Landing two garden arbors with vines
Installing vine-covered garden arbors
A friend was giving away two arbors complete with full-grown vines. Whaaat?! I couldn’t get over there fast enough! I’ve always wanted at least one of these but I managed to land two! So Part 1 shares how I mounted them and where they ended up. Come on over and check them both out! Both arbors are similar to THESE.
As you can imagine, those two new additions have me listing new endless outdoor projects to accompany them! First on my list is to redo the wooden walkway, replacing it with new wood.
I’m also busy pressure washing everything in sight, and I’ll admit, I’m not as young as I use to be (heh) so I’m only doing small sections with a week’s rest at a time. I have to use our gas-powered heavy duty pressure washer as the gunk is too heavy for my easy little plug-in pressure washer, much like THESE. Love having both on hand for different reasons, such as using the plug in for furniture or light duty cleaning. I really should blog about them because they are both needed yet so different!
And I’ve already mowed my lawn twice this year! Our weather finally turned into shorts weather so everything is growing like crazy once again. Getting two motors ready for the season was another needed task, which I should also blog about! Servicing your own machines is actually quite easy and can save you lots of money.
So until there’s more to share, let’s check out these unique upcycle project features from last week’s party, then get onto the brand new additions!

Paint inlay flower bucket makeover
Flower bucket makeover with paint inlays by Artsy VaVa
Transfers are really big right now, however have you ever heard of paint inlays? They actually utilize real paint, giving you a painted surface, and are as easy to use as transfers! This gorgeous flowered bucket tutorial will show you all the steps! Love this image, it looks so vintage!
Unique 3D flower seed packet art from the dollar store!
3D flower seed packet art by Homeward Found Decor
I LOVE the look and nostalgic whimsy a seed packet has. But here’s an all new way to display them… turning them into 3d flower seed packet art! Oh my gosh… this 3D flower positively jumps right off the paper, with the most pleasing visual! You MUST go see how this is done, it’s so clever! And it all starts at the dollar store…
Flip a keepsake snack bag into a zippered pouch
Kenya snack souvenir zipper pouch by Purple Hues and Me
Gail came up with the most amazing way to bring a souvenir home from a recent trip. She flipped a snack bag into a keepsake zippered pouch. What?! I didn’t even know this was possible, but what a FUN idea and way to keep a memory alive! This is a really fun project to see!
Wooden block basket makeovers
Thrifted wooden basket makeovers by Little Vintage Cottage
Upon landing two cute wooden baskets from the thrift store, Tania decided to make them even cuter than the way she found them, by adding a punch of colour and personality to each one! Oh you must check them both out, what finds and equally adorable makeovers!
