The rustic garden shed during fall
There’s always this magical moment when the leaves are falling like rain while still wearing most of them.
The grapevine starts to change colour from the truck first, with the leaves morphing from their crisp green to vivid tones of orange, lime and yellow.
That’s prime time to dash out to the garden shed out back and capture it in its natural fall beauty habitat.
Rain or no rain!
Yes it was raining.
Which could be a good thing. I can endlessly tweak things to nearly death, but I didn’t want to damage my camera, so this shoot went fast!
HERE was the garden shed in summer during August…
… and two short months later, October brings a completely different show.
Isn’t nature just amazing?!
I don’t have much in my backyard these days, aside from the cool pallet wood fence HERE.
So I’m really grateful this little shed keeps on keepin’ on! It’s a great little focal point that always seems to work.
As luck would have it, I had just run out to a local farmers’ market type produce store and picked up these cute white pumpkins for all of $1 each.
They were till scattered by the front door because I still didn’t have a place in mind for them.
They ended up being the perfect fall companion to the shed wearing its leaves.
I will be the first to admit, my fall interior decorating HERE doesn’t get very far. It’s that transitional season when I’m already working behind the scenes on Christmas.
It happens EVERY year. I need a clone.
Or learn to decorate a full season ahead…
I did share a couple of pillow and placemat ideas for fall HERE… so glad I got that in!
Who knows. My fireplace mantel is still bare so I may think of something quick one day where things just work.
I’m just grateful nature does what it does best, at the perfect time.
The fall show is indeed spectacular! My entire lawn is absolutely covered in leaves. It’s glorious!
Nature’s confetti I say.
Thank goodness the urge to rake the leaves hasn’t taken effect yet.
Guess I have a good excuse if I call it fall decor, right?!
What kind of fall show do you have in your own yard?

And how the garden shed changes every year
I swoon every time you show your garden shed.
Awww, thanks Rose! It’s the highlight of the entire back yard. I’m playing with the idea of lighting it up for Christmas this year for the first time… could be fun!
Nice shed, I always enjoy your emails and website. Thank you !
Thanks for your visit Danny!
Love your shed! What’s in it?
Hey Patsy! It’s filled to the rafters with firewood! Great place for it.
This is definitely the best time of the year in my opinion. And I think your rustic shed would agree!
Haha, yes I think it would! It is gorgeous! Although I’ll take a few more sunny days please… my bike is getting lonely. 🙂
Oh this is totally refabalicious! Love the color of the picture, sometimes an over cast day is perfect for pictures it gives a richness that a sunny day can’t. Thank you for sharing.
Yes!! I thought it would be too gloomy out to shoot but it ended up being perfect!
Your garden shed is one with all the natural elements surrounding it. I have always, always, loved your shed. It’s quite the muse. Happy Halloween Donna!
Your shed is iconic Donna. It doesn’t matter what the season is, it always looks like something out of a Junkin’ fairytale 😉
