Welcome to Party Junk 252 – All About Pallets
Every Friday, 7PM through Sunday 11 PM Pacific
Hello, hello friends! Welcome to a special edition of Party Junk, celebrating All About Pallets!
Most of you know by now my love for the stuff. It isn’t so much about the pallet itself… it’s about the weathered wood. Where else can you find something so authentic and economical than from a lowly pallet?
My hunger for pallets fired up because of their (free) price. And while I didn’t intend to be following a trend, they became one anyway. Who knew.
Well, that won’t stop me from harvesting the coolest wood on earth. So here’s my own little self help guide to all things pallet…. with 50+ pallet projects linked up below! Bring yours over too!
Make a pallet wood gate and boardwalk in an hour!
Coming home from a tropical trip to all things manicured, I was encouraged to pretty up a little area in my own yard. This pallet gate and boardwalk transpired in ONE hour.
A cheater method of harvesting pallet wood
I get asked all the time how I get the pallets apart. One cheater secret resides in this post.
Make a pallet wood old drill toolbox!
Friend Hanne asked me to make a drill handled toolbox to help honour her Grandfather’s old drill. So I figured out a super easy way to make one this round…
Pallet wood (and other riff raff) front entry table.
Desiring a quick, new look for the entry, I ripped apart some things and this transpired….
Landing an amazing metal rack by a dumpster, this awesome storage for all my reclaimed and pallet wood resulted…
Everything you’ve ever wanted to know about pallet wood
This must read post goes over, is it safe / where to find / how to work with it, etc. If you work with reclaimed wood, this is a must read for your own safety and others.

Your pallet designs always amaze me. And what I wouldn’t give for a metal storage unit like the one you found to organize your pallet wood stash. Congrats on saying goodbye to your day job and pursing you passion full time. All the best and continued success.
Thanks so much for the party Donna !
Happy weekend
Love it – okay so I always adore wall decor such as this:

and think… I’d love to make my own! How would I go about making the piece? Do you think I could use pallet wood? How would I adjoin?
Jen 🙂
Hi Jen! You could indeed use pallet wood! Just screw a cross brace (board) across the back, upper and lower and screw from the back so the screws don’t show. As for the design… that design has a very hand done look, so you could either somehow project the image onto your surface, trace and paint or do it freehand. It’s adorable!
Thanks for the tip – I need to find a pallet to play with!!
Congrats on getting to be a full-time blogger. I’m loving your pallet projects. Have a great weekend, and thanks for hosting a super fun party.
Hi Donna,
Thanks so much for hosting this party. I am so glad I was able to link up. I have been busy moving my daughter into her dorm room. That was so hard to do. I guess I need to get busy creating stuff. Maybe, it will keep me from missing her so much. I hope you have a wonderful week.
I forgot to tell you…I love all of your pallet things. Thanks for sharing them.
Hi Donna … Always love your projects … especially reclaimed wood.
So many helpful projects in this party. Thanks for always being here for us to link up and party.
